It looks like a lot of things happened around the Steemit community while I wasn't using it for the past two months.
To summarize what I've learned so far,
- Justin Sun, the founder of Tron, bought Steemit
- He now owns a large portion of Steem tokens
- And Steemit is moving to Tron blockchain
- People who don't like the change forked Steem, creating a new blockchain Hive
I just learned these things today so please correct me if I'm wrong.
As most people I follow have moved to Hive, I will do so as well and stay here for now. I don't know if this change is a good thing or a bad thing for the Steemit/Hive community and the entire blockchain community yet, and I will continue to look at the situation closely and see how it's going to turn out.
I feel like the concentration of power ruins the point of decentralized blockchain technology, but at the same time I think Tron's attempt to revolutionize the entertainment industry is really interesting. (I guess I need to learn more about blockchain to make more intelligent comment haha)
But for now, hello Hive, and I hope to find cool posts and people here.
