The Brit List - February 2021

in #hive4 years ago (edited)

I have run my script again for my monthly update of Brits who are using Hive. Anyone could use that to make a list for their country or city.

I keep an eye out for any new people or when others return to Hive. The @teamuksupport Discord can be useful for that, but I also get tipoffs from others. Please let me know if you notice anyone is missing, even if they are not currently active.

I can include additional accounts for people if requested, but I want to count people rather than just accounts.

Previous editions:

The good news is the the numbers are up again even though less were active in the first (biggest) region. We are getting so close to 100 and maybe we can reach that milestone next month. The script checks for any activity within the last month, so even one comment will count. If you know someone who has stopped posting then maybe you can encourage them to return, especially now it could be worth more. Can we find more than one Hiver in Northern Ireland?

Thanks Steve, I'll move back to South West please until further notice, let's get the region's numbers up. @mudcat36 is also in the south west somewhere. Thanks

Cheers for the updates. This could be useful when meetups are possible again.

Found another one, getting another step closer to 100 mark

Cool. I am sure there are more out there.

I'm still hanging on by a thread, hoping to get some more staff in so I can post again on a night instead of spending my evening invoicing and generating shipping labels! Thank you once again for the coffee order, I hope Hermes don't just leave it on the doorstep again -_-

The package arrived today and was handed to me this time. I had run out of the previous lot. Hope business stays good. @belemo was asking me about ordering with HIVE.

Awesome I am so pleased it arrived safely, I had to delay shipment by a day because I needed to roast a fresh batch of the Brazil Huts Hive Blockchain Coffee. I do not currently have an easy path to pay with Hive, I do have Coinbase commerce fully running and I have had many orders paid in Etherium - which just shows people are using Crypto to pay for real world things and not just hoddling - it feels like all the time I have invested in Blockchain was really worth while - we are now part of a revolution. If @belemo or anyone wishes to pay in Hive the best way is to use the website contact form https://whiterosecoffeeroasters.co.uk/community/contact stating what they want to order and they want to pay in Hive with their account name (ie @belemo) and I will work out the amount of Hive and send them the account to send it to. I would like to find an automated solution but that is a long way off without paying for a coder to do it.

I would hope someone could build a generic Hive e-commerce platform to make it easy to buy and sell using $HIVE. With the lack of transaction fees it's got to have potential.

Thanks for the update. Trying to get my head aroumd all this again since Ive managed to get my accoumt back up and running 😁

I am just happy to see more people active. I have seen a few come back recently. The improved HIVE price may help with that.

Nice work Steve!
Great to be back sharing my music again!

wow so many from London!

We used to have a few meetups. Maybe we can again later this year. Let me know if you recruit anyone else.

Good to see numbers going up - we will definitely see more people here as the price goes up.

Sweet! ✊

Nice one Steve!

Thanks for the mention. I'm really not on Hive as much as I would like to be at the moment with some family commitments but I will be back I promise

That's no problem. My script will pick up if you are active within a month, but please don't feel it as pressure to be around. I realise people have lives outside Hive.

Working on that Expat status

Cheers Steve!

Just let me know who where you prefer to be on the list. Can update next month.

Cheers. I'll not tempt fate and ask to be moved until it's official. Have a good weekend in Blighty :)

Cheers Steve. I am originally from Penance n Cornwall :D

Well I hope life is good where you are now. I have found a lot more Brits recently who will be in the next edition. I am sure there are more out there, some of whom live elsewhere now.

@steevc

What's the deal with reward on Hive. People are upvoting my content after the 7 day period, has it changed do I still receive these awards in another 7 days, or is just like steemit, where you don't get anything awarded after 7 days.

I don't think anything has changed. Rewards are paid out after 7 days as before. If people are voting later then their votes have no effect.

Hey @steevc, @livinguktaiwan suggested I check this out. I'm from the UK, South West but currently living and working in Thailand (expat) so please add me to the list. I'm trying to post most days depending on work/time etc but definitely trying to be as active as I can. Good to see so many people from the UK

I've added you for next month. Looks like your posts are doing really well. Enjoy your travels.

Thanks for the add. Yes have been lucky with what I've written. Good to meet and connect here 👍

Good job Steve, we will come out of this shambles at some point and be able to do some meetups again. 👍

I look forward to that. It's been far too long. Maybe someone should organise some Zoom meetups or similar. Just being able to chat with others about Hive can be nice.

Yeah it's good to chat. There are so many new apps that have appeared on our chain. I can't keep up with all the developments?
Isn't the town hall running any more?

Thank you very much for this update :)
Very useful🙂

Good to see the UK getting back in the game. For me, hive is a welcome distraction from the sht show that is the UK mainstream media. I think we'll see many more return with an increasing hive price 🙂

Good work @steevc

Hive can have some shit too :) I find the 'mainstream' media is very variable. Have to pick who you trust. Anyway, I will keep doing this list and hope the numbers keep improving.

Yay! 🤗
