The other day I wrote a post about the importance of engagement and how the most valuable content on the blockchain is the audience, and now there is an initiative to take and support this further. Not only that, it runs indefinitely and supports and encourages both content creation and the engagement. The announcement from @anomadsoul can be found behind the title link below.
Be POSH, Engage and help Hive Thrive
With the recent and ongoing drive in price, this really is the perfect time to drive this kind of interaction and push of Hive into the public arena and the eyes of those who are not yet to arrive on Hive. What Hive needs is more consumers, more people to come in and read what is written and perhaps like many of us, fall in love with other aspects of the community - a diverse community, multiple gateways and experiences, gaming, communities, a creative space and of course, the potential to earn on interaction.
As said, there are two sides to this initiative - as a creator and as a consumer - and one of the brilliant things on Hive is that consumer is also creator, someone who Adds value through interaction and sharing the content that they themselves like to consume with friends, family and the world at large. While an author creates, the reach of what is created is empowered by those who distribute it through their networks - and when great content links reach the eyes of the audience, the audience will follow the crumb trail in.
Creator or Consumer?
Both of course! There is nothing limiting which path to take and nothing stopping people from being creative talents and distributive nodes who push the best out into the world.
There are of course rules to this initiative, and for the creators I will send them back to the announcement post to read the conditions. But, for those who are interested in the engagement side, I will add those here.
How should you engage on a post to join this Challenge?
- Browse Hive and/or Twitter for #Hive and #POSH posts.
- Interact with the author on Twitter - perhaps a retweet, a favorite, a comment... or even better, a retweet with comment, so your own followers see the post and head to Hive.
- Head to the Hive post and leave a meaningful, thought of, engaging comment.
Get creating, get engaging, get sharing
As I have said for quite a while, engagement within and from the community is where it is at, internal conversation has massive value and is fantastic for the retention of users also. External conversation reaches out to others and hooks them into the mix, to add their voice to the on-chain interaction. Once here, their journey starts, the exploration of the community, the interfaces and what Hive offers a user - entertainment, a global network, a place to create and develop, as well as early adopter status into the new economy, web 3.0 and the possibility to be involved in shaping the technology of the future in some way - not to mention, ownership of experience in a censorship protected environment.
When it comes to the future of Hive and the Thrive potential, it is up to us to be driving forces that take our community beyond the borders and extend ourselves through distribution and becoming more inclusive. Just like the value of a dPOS blockchain is protected by distribution, content builds value in the same way - the more Hive content in the hands of consumers, the more value content generates and distribution is up to us - together and as individuals.
This is a collaborative initiative powered by @blocktrades, @theycallmedan, @threespeak and @ocdb - who will all be putting aside voting power to support the posts and the interactions upon them. I am glad that there are large accounts and communities that are using their staked influence to add value to the community that supports the community and I hope that we as users are going to take advantage of their support and push each other into new audiences - the best of us for the eyes of the world to see.
ladder post. It is a lot of fun and it is a great way to get a little bit of personalized feedback on interaction and curation - plus a bit extra from the lucky number sponsors. In addition to this, I hope that everyone who hasn't, joins up with Asher's (@abh12345) Engagement League by leaving a request on the latest
Go have some fun and earn some share by sharing what you love!

[ Gen1: Hive ]
Truly, this is a time for communities to begin to thrive. Engagement is the lifewire of every social network and must be upheld if growth is envisaged. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the #posh initiative and I hope it goes a long way to build value for hive.
Yep, I wonder how much type of engagement affects value long-term.
It's precisely the sort of thing we need to have here, on an ongoing basis. With the various ways Hive has been in the news since the fork, generally positive press and now a couple of "biggie" exchange listings... we have momentum.
Another bit of momentum is in the works: As I was getting some Hive from Bittrex today, I noticed in their "assets" area there are now USD-Hive and USDT-Hive trading pairs listed! They are not active yet, but clearly in the works. Wow... Steem never managed to get that, and here's another "score" after a little more than 30 days. That would be a HUGE boon for onboarding!
But we precisely have to grab this momentum and RUN with it, and BUILD something amazing for people to come to. As I stated on Asher's post earlier today: "You can build web sites with content, but you need ENGAGEMENT to build communities."
No time to rest on the laurels of our accomplishments-to-date... time to take this opportunity and RUN with it!
Would be great to get some USD listings on the exchanges. The price fluctuations will normalize when crypto does :D
The momentum now should be used to build instead of getting stuck in the same conversations of the past.
For sure. Engagement is the glue and it is what retains users - real relationships eventually make investors on the platform through financial value, not just social.
I like the way you the hive community is going about the promotion of hive.
My thoughts about the RANDOM selection of posts that were shared on Twitter is the possibility of adding a clause that such authors also make out time to comment on other people's posts, at least two to be eligible for the random selection.
What do you think about it?
I think people should engage regardless of the votes :)
:) that's a growth strategy.
Yes it is, one that not many take.
I'm among the 'many', for a long time now. I'm working on breaking free from the burnout though.
What is the burnout from?
A lot of challenges came on. Ranging from taking care of a hospitalized family member in the hospital for a long while with little finances on my end.
Coupled with a lot more other emotional energy sapping situations.
To make it worse, I Am more of an introvert.
In the union is the force, friend @tarazkp and when the work is made in team and with determination and commitment the most sure thing is that the proposed goal is reached and with it the triumph. Valuable publication, I will share it. Happy week, a hug.
Working and walking together is a lot more fun too :)
I absolutely agree, @tarazkp.
gotta start to do more to ramp up new users ... the perpetual conundrum
Yep, it is an issue that I would like to see applications tackle through communities.
Good initiative because it's a start. It will take a lot of work and people will need to be diligent regardless of incentives for doing so. Let's see how long people stick to it. If they hang in there it will be a decent growth strategy.
Yep, people will generally do what brings them a reward short-term -regardless of what affects the long term status of their investment. Some will look and act long as a general process.
Ooooh, So PoSh!
