Today, we're celebrating something special: our fifth Hive Forkday anniversary! It’s not just another birthday, it’s a milestone that symbolizes our commitment to building a truly decentralized and censorship-free space.
The term "Forkday" might catch your interest if you’re only used to birthdays. So, let’s take a quick trip back in time.
Five years ago, we, the Hive community made a bold move. We decided to branch out from the original blockchain (whose name must no longer be spoken), leaving what became a centralized and censored system behind. This fork was a powerful statement of our determination to create a space that truly reflects our values.
Looking Back Over the Last Year
Once again, it's been a whirlwind year! We have gone through a roller-coaster bear and bull market. Our amazing Core Dev team tackled some pretty big challenges, supercharging the node APIs to keep our blockchain humming smoothly, revamping our front-end, block explorer and developer's API
The latest edition of HiveFest in Split was once again epic, leaving unforgettable memories for those who attended. @lordbutterfly did a great job after taking over the torch from @theycallmedan and @starkerz.
Our community is made of passionate, diverse, and dedicated people. Each one of you adds your unique skills and views, propelling Hive forward.
Sure, our growth might seem slow compared to some flashy hype-driven blockchains, but when I look at Hive’s steady march over the past five years, I’m confident about our future.
As we mark this 5th Forkday, I am very proud to be part of this community, and I’m looking forward to the next milestones and innovations that lie ahead.
A Heartfelt Thank You
I can’t miss this opportunity to express my gratitude to each and every one of you. Your passion and commitment are what power our journey. With the continued support of this incredible community, Hive’s future is bound to be as bright as its past.
Here’s to another amazing year.
Happy 5th Hive Forkday!
happy forkday, 5 years wow time flies, I have just realised I have been here 5 years and 1 month, I must have started on the other place,I vaguely remember my guru doing all the admin for me as I was and still am ( but not as much) clueless, guess I missed all the political shenanigans if that is the right phrase to use.
This place has taken over my life, here most days nosing around, whereas before I would post on fb in the hope of getting little blue thumbs from equally as sad individuals , I now have grown up.
All hail to the hive. Thank you @arcange and others who put all this effort into the community, you have mega brains, mega skills that mere mortals such as I can only but reap our rewards from.

Happy forkday ! I've only just realised that having the Hivefest closest to the 5th anniversary of the fork in a town called Split is deeply symbolic.....
!BBH
Hehe, never thought about "Split" as aligned with the idea of forking. Good catch! 🤣
Five years already, wow! I am with Hive almost 4 of them, still loving it!
Yes, time flies. It's great to know you've been part of the community for so long and still love it.
Happy 5th Forkday, @arcange! I'm so incredibly grateful that I discovered Hive, and that I recognized both the marvel that it was when I arrived, and it's incredible potential. I've been all-in for the long haul, and giving my all every day, ever since. I'm immensely excited for Hive's future! Thank you for everything that you're done for the Hive blockchain and community! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
Thank you for your kind words and continued support.
Thanks a lot, and absolutely, you're most welcome, I'm happy to do so! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
It's been a wild ride. 2020 felt like absolute chaos as the real world and our new HIVE community both went through turmoil. I think HIVE did better than anything in the political sphere though.
Absolutely, 2020 was a year of upheaval with the pandemic, which created a lot of uncertainty and turmoil.
The fork that led to the creation of Hive demonstrated the power of a community. Hive managed to carve out its own path.
Happy anniversary see you on your 10th year! Hive is awesome!
Damn, wild to think about we carved out our own path 5 years ago!
Time flies 🕰️
I'm so happy to be part of this great #hive community!
Happy 5th Hive Forkday!
