Today is mid autumn festival. The moon is the biggest and in a perfect round shape ever during the lunar calendar.
Kids love eating 🦀 so I made this special dish for them tonight.
I don’t know what’s name of this red hairy looking fruit
But inside is almost like a lichee, white and sweet but not as juicy.
I used garden lettuce and tomatoes made a beautiful Greek salad.
My daughter gave me ideas on decorating the moo cake dish with fruits. It looks so pretty 🥰
Now go out look at the moon!!! It’s so big and bright tonight!!! 🌝
Wow! Those are rambutans, so surprised to seem them in the far north. Even though Suriname has a good climate for fruit, there are really only plantains and bananas here, and I get a sense the culture doesn't have a love affair with fruit.
Hope you had a Happy Moon Festival! I saw some cakes here advertised on FB, but didn't see any in the local Chinese corner shops, kind of surprised by that.
Hi Justin thank you for stopping by! The moon cakes here in North America are very simple basic. Back home we have moon cakes in all sorts style: sweet, savory, cold and hot! Recent they even have an ice cream style moon cakes. But be honest with you I’m not too crazy about the too processed food. I Do love all the nature fruits though!! Hi Justin, even though we never met in person and even though we live far away, my family and I have been thinking about you and your family. It really hurts to hear recent news about your family.
