HiveDebit in the Modular Carnival 🇧🇷

in #hivedebit2 days ago

As you know guys, I'm the developer of HiveDebit, and one of the most important things to do as the runner of this project is getting opinions and test it with real people that don't know anything about Hive or Hive Debit.

That's why I went to Modular Carnival in Belo Horizonte, Brasil with @arlettemsalase and @boeltermc to give an speech, onboard people, and get CDs for 40 years old man called Jan.

You know that I really take care about you as a reader, so I'll add titles and the first thing will be like the resume of this trip, but if you don't want to read my resume of the trip cause you don't want, there's no problem, after the story there's the most important stuff for HiveDebit.

Belo Horizonte is 'near'

This is my third international travel, first one to Argentina for LaBitconf where I stayed with @starkerz and created the idea of Hive Debit, the second one in El Salvador for Plan B Network for my Job in Bitcoin Noticias (BitcoinNews.com but in spanish) and this third one for Modular Carnival.

Bogota to Buenos Aires was non-stop (I have such a great history about it, lemme know if you want a post where I explain all the things that happened in Buenos Aires) and 6 hours flight, but at least non-stop.

Bogota to El Salvador was non-stop and 3 hours flight, this one was really chill.

Bogota to Belo Horizonte had one stop, a really stupid one but that's the offer.
If you want to go from Bogota to Belo Horizonte, you need to take a flight to Panama that takes 1 Hour and then wait for another hour and a half to take the flight from Panama to Belo Horizonte of 7 Hours in a Boeing 737-MAX (I'm a big fan of aviation) if you don't know, the Boeing 737-MAX is a cool plane, but I'm 1.87m, so... being sitted all the flight with back problems is not so good, but I'm Colombian and Colombian people is really resistant, so not big deal, just sit take your Walkman and listen Chicago and Christopher Cross all the flight.

Once I landed in Belo Horizonte, the airport was empty and that was a little bit scary but chill, no one came to you to say "TAXI TAXI TAXI".

I took my uber at 2AM, an incredible Jeep Renegade 2023 (also big fan of Jeep), and we started the trip to Belo Horizonte, and once we got into the highway a Jeep Compass 2024 approached us and my Uber driver just start accelerating more... and we started a race against a best Jeep in a Brazilian Highway at 2AM, this is the type of welcome that I want in every country that I visit.

We won against the Jeep Compass, driving at 180KM/h (The max velocity that the Jeep Renegade can give you) in a great highway in Brazil, he drove around Pampulha (Airport and Lake area), and it was fantastic as the 60 year old Brazilian told me in the plane.

Once I got into the hotel @arlettemsalase received me and put me into one of the hotel rooms and I was reaaaally hungry, y'know in the planes they give you food, but the last meal was like at 8PM, and it was 3AM already, so I needed food, and there was no Denny's to go and eat.

So I took the phone and called for room service remembering my 2022 Portuguese Lessons and the Roberto Carlos songs in Portuguese and I got a burger to eat and then go to sleep.

Belo Horizonte Market / The Best Place

On the same day but later, we went to the Belo Horizonte Market with Arlette, @boeltermc and his girlfriend in the car of Boelter, an amazing Fiat similar to the Jeep Grand Cherokee maybe 1996-2002, cool design and cool color, I should ask him about the car model.

I got a hat at the market because it was cool so don't judge me.

At the first day of the event we just started meeting people and taking a look around to see what they were doing.

At the second day, the Hive Debit Journal started.

How it was for Hive Debit?

In the event early at the second day I was walking around with Arlette and then a guy called Italo approached me and asked me if I was YouTuber (idk not sure, I'm like a multitask man, journalist, hivedebit developer, bitcoin maximalist and Pancake eater at night) and I answered that I'm kind of because I make some interviews for Bitcoin Noticias, all of this thing in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

He didn't know anything about Crypto, so I just told him that I came to Brazil to give this cool cards where you can spend the money that you can earn free on Hive, and he was like.

Wtf is that even real?

And yes it is, so I explained him how Hive Works, how to make a post and how to use the card.

image.png

It would be really cool if you guys want to like his first publication on hive and give him some advices to become a good hiver, his account is @ital0

I gave my speech about HiveDebit with a full room of people, and one of those was a Bitcoin Maximalist I think (because he had a Plan B Network shirt and Bitcoin things), so I started talking about which is the problem of Crypto adoption and why I'm still a Bitcoin Maximalist, that actually is very simple.

If you go and take a look on the "Bitcoin Maxis" the big ones, are using USDT or promoting other different stuff from Bitcoin, or even liking the idea of USDT on Lightning.
So, if you want to told me that I'm not a Bitcoin Maxi because I like Monero and Hive you can go and fuck yourself, I least I don't think USDT is decentralized.

But focusing again on this, basically you are free to say this on Hive as I'm doing rn.
For me Bitcoin is the first and great one, but as politics and everything in the world and the market, there's free competition, such as Hive and Monero.

So I explained that in Hive you can earn money giving your thoughts about things like I'm doing here and spend it in business where you can get 20% discount or more paying with the Hive or HBD that you got making some posts.

I didn't explain why Monero, but if you want to know is basically because is 'private' I saw that Super Testnet (a Bitcoin Developer) showed some proof that is not so private, so I'll learn about that and if he is right is going to be only Bitcoin and Hive.

And also, if you are a bitcoin maximalist, you can do your posts on Hive and earn Hive or HBD and swap it to Lightning through @v4vapp, go and do that on Tron.

I also talked about the great projects that we have on Hive, I talked about 3 that I really like.

@distriator because you can get discounts when you pay. @threespeak because you can upload videos to Hive. And @vsc.network because is amazing and is going to make some big improvements for Hivers and for people that is not into Hive.

Once I Finished my speech a lot of people came to me to take a photo and get a card, so I made 19 cards, and I don't have any of those cards, the cards are now in the user hands, really cool users.

And I think that's it a lot of people that likes Bitcoin/Crypto wants to know more about hive and wants the HiveDebit cards because they are really cool and have something that no other one could have.

So thank u for reading all this stuff, I wrote this in 30 minutes just chilling and listening music, stay tunned on Hive to see what is going to happen with Hive Debit and I'll add some pictures that I take on the trip.

Thanks and eat pancakes.
