I'm here in Rosarito, Mexico for Hivefest and it has been tremendous. As the formal events have now ended perhaps I'll have some more time to write up full posts on Hive.
I gave a talk and when I find the online version of that I'll post it but for now I'll just highlight another appearance I made but which came as a bit of a surprise!
Yesterday those of us who came to Mexico were treated to the first premier of the film produced by @lordbutterfly @littlelamb and the DHF telling the creation story of Hive, Freechain.
The film is a skillfully produced explanation of blockchain, freedom and forms just enough basis to then explain the creation and birth of Hive in the aftermath of the Steem takeover.
The film has a number of well known Hiveans interviewed on camera which was obviously done specifically for the film. However there is a significant clip featuring an interview I gave in March 2020 talking about the event. That video is still on @threespeak so I thought I'd pull it out.
The Steem part starts at 4m 55s though I found it interesting to re-watch the early Covid news from then.
This was shot before Hive was even birthed, and I before the HF23 which stole user funds. It was right after the power ups which pushed all of Justin Sun's witnesses into the lead and running the chain. I significant part of this interview was used in Freechain and it fits in very nicely.
I hadn't really even remembered doing this but it was the last time I went to @blocktvnews's studio in Tel Aviv because they were pretty much shut down by Covid. They continued a bit doing some remote stuff but they closed the project down early in lockdown. A real shame, they were highly professional and did some great reporting in short soundbites and explained things well.
Hopefully I'll put up some more Hivefest posts soon, perhaps a bunch of photos.

Great recap and the news as well was super helpful even though it was from years ago. I will admit when all of this was taking place as an everyday user at the time and just using it for social and talking about crypto and some of the community
I wrote it off as a crypto loss and figured to myself dang just another bad bet in my playbook. It wasn't until a year later I returned to place Splinterlands since everyone was talking about it being on hive and from there I've gotten HEAVILY back into hive and this community. Investing, using and helping where I can and about to ramp up efforts to do more.
The news snippet honestly made me realize more what happened in 5 minutes then all the discord chats I've had and tweets lol. Like I said every day user I wasn't in on the tech side at all at the time or understanding much of the aspects of it.
I also enjoyed re-watching that! Until it appeared in the film I honestly didn't remember filming it.
That video is such a wild blast from the past.
That was such a crazy time and pinnacle moment for both this community and just crypto in general.
When will Freechain be available to the rest of us? I looked for it online, but nothing that came up showed promise.
Unfortunately it has to be kept private while trying to get into film festivals or be sold to a distributor.
That is unfortunate, but very promising, so not a bad trade. :D

I was a very old user of Steemit myself but I don't use it anymore and the way we see that there are very few people working on Steemit now all the people who were there are now on this platform. have come and this is a very good thing because there is no owner and everyone can work here as they wish.
I remember everything that happened and even though I was from relatively new on Hive at that time I immediately chose to power down on Steem and move to the good side with potential: Hive!
I enjoyed watching your video interview and I think you described and explained very well the bad figure of J.sun and the birth of our beloved Hive.

wow, how in a few minutes you realize everything in that interview, I have been in Steemit for almost 5 years now and when Hive started it gave me a little fear because in Steemit I had already done something as a community, but thank God in Hive did it again and really everything has been much better, I hope to continue knowing more things that despite having been here for so long, I don't know much since I am a user who creates publications, I am a violinist and well I like to share my work, but Yes, I would like to invest and do more in Hive, but here it is difficult to ask and learn, I will follow your publications to stay more aware of everything that is happening
I'm new here and I came across this, the truth is it's good to know everything about Hive and how it is managed, I had heard of Steemit but I never joined it, it didn't give me a good feeling, Hive works for me and I know that I will be able to grow on this platform, thank you for informing us of everything, greetings
