What is Blue Sky?
HiveFive is a group of friends on Hive that create things in technology. Some of our creations are on Hive, some are elsewhere. One of our core concepts is BLUE SKY.
What if we pool together some funds with the purpose of supporting Hivers that rely on Hive for daily income?
We can call it a month of Sunday's because the funds in the pool will be used to upvote all valid posts by the Hiver for one month. When we were growing up, Sunday was the only day not for work. Sunday was a day to visit friends and family and rest the body. A month of Sundays was a metaphor for a time of enjoyment.
What amount will have an impact?
Should it be something close to $25,000? We should determine what amount of an upvote is beneficial and significant enough to the recipient.
How do we choose recipients? Probably, country specific, and then recipient review. The number of recipients should be small so that the upvotes have strong value.
Will length of time on Hive be important? Probably not.
Will there be some scammers? Probably so. But we shouldn't be worried about that. Recipients posts will be reviewed. The recipients list will be updated every 30 days. Recipients may be on future rotations, when funds permit. Since the need is ongoing, the project should consider long-term support when possible.
What if we don't like the post of the recipients like the political views are extreme? We can not support violence or harm to others. Beyond that, Everyone has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. So while we might not agree with a certain lifestyle or specific pursuit of happiness, it shouldn't stop us from supporting the person.
Who starts the funding? Since it's Blue Sky at this time, it's just a concept. But we think the HiveFive core can put together the initial funding of at least $10K. Beyond that amount, we can request delegation of power for the project.
Is there a timeframe? Blue Sky is idea formation only. In general, sooner may be better than later. Since Hive is down, we can acquire more HivePower for the dollars. And people who rely on HIVE for daily living may need more support now, because the HIVE that they are earning is of lesser value.
