HIVE at Berlin was a BLAST!


We were at Berlin for a blockchain conference last June and before we get into our EXODE news, I wanted to make a shoutout for the HIVE people who were there at Berlin.

They were very welcoming, they took some big time with us, they had an amazing booth there, they shared a lot about our HIVE values, so big shoutout to you @crimsonclad , @starkerz , @detlev , @louis88 , @arcange , @flauwi , @rivalzzz , @quekery , @solarwarrior, @ssekulji , @stortebeker , @alucian , @broxi , @gandalf , @e-rich1 , @howo , and @tibfox , to everyone who was here or supported the event.

And sorry for all the names I would forget!

I have been hesitating at making a full fledged video and then I had to do a lot at the coding deck recently. Overall Berlin was great for meeting the HIVE people but the organizers did not make marketing efforts toward the german people and did not bring enough visitors.

Recently we deployed a lot of new collection content with our beta starters:
with our Self-made Savior, Utopian Thinker and Religious Visionary!

One excellent captain in our community, @veryanprime has been analyzing the new starter contents.

This is for some of our recently deployed content in July, but of course more is coming!
The next collection content to be deployed will be our Rebel Starter.

This one will be available to veteran players and unlock access to many Rebel characters.

Recently our coding power was used for colonization features, but the rebel starter is also still aimed for release, and then we'll work at enabling contract drops and beta booster opening,


More features!


We have designed a solution to our deployment challenges and delays. We aim at simplifying front complexity and have a run at deploying access to more and deeper colonization commands.

We explained this strategy on our discord and have deployed just yesterday its first major content with a new access to your games called the Colonization Command Center (or C3).

This software gives you a technical access to all colonization orders.

Its early access starts humble of course, but is already working.

You can get it after logging in on our website.

If you don't see the option to resume colonization, think about pressing Ctrl + F5 on website to force reload your cache.

The new software verifies connection to your colonization game.
It also restores commands such as citizen details and all teams features.

So it allows to review, create and delete teams and to add and remove team members.

But mostly it validates a perfect way to access EXODE new API and gives orders to your citizens.

It is really meant as a way to easily scale in new features and to allow our players to test new orders fast!

Next update will restore habitat and workplace commands, then projects, then food commands.

Then we will then continue with new features such as away teams and will allow some graphical commands to view your colony map and the planetary map.

We are currently prototyping new COLONY MAPS to allow you to PLACE YOUR BUILDINGS!

Once we will have all colonization in place, we will also work again on adding all this to the more regular graphical display.

You can expect new commands coming in production nearly every week!


Support development!


EXODE is funded by packs you can purchase from the store.

Then you can trade them (as well as their cards) between players, making it a player-owned economy.

Some packs can be opened right away while others like contract packs produce cards to your account every week.

Do not forget these:
every booster and contract pack you purchase is the lifeblood of EXODE development!


Improved production pipeline


Even if we had to restructure the team we have determined a new rhythm.

  • We have always worked on weekends too.
  • That's ok, really. We have passion.
  • For some reason we cannot explain, we even work better on weekends!
  • Some reminder is that our weekend deployments are usually considered between Saturday to Monday.

Ok, that's our odd concept of weekends.
If we miss that window (this happens, tests are done late) we then postpone for the next week.

For release plans we announced the following estimates:

  • Hotfixes every week, usually during the weekend on Sundays.
  • Feature releases every two weeks, improving existing content.
  • Important milestones every month.

Our new colonization console will receive a lot more available orders before the end of August!


Attracting new audience


We are improving ourselves in the gameplay prototypes we release and the marketing we make of them. But we are also looking forward at expanding our audience.

First of all we are going to use Leofinance Threads,
We missed that upgrade and @jongolson and @taskmaster4450 were right to remind us about it!

But also, we had a summer coding week - like a coding hackathon - along with one one of our interns and we quickly expanded on a game prototype we made.

This is something totally special, hyper-artistically-involved.
Though technically, it tested our newly made API architecture (the one we use in the EXODE console).

Don't blame me.
This is what we do when we have too much pizza.
