I haven't done much gaming of any kind in awhile.
I noticed that I kind of gave up on Web3 games as it feels like every single one needs to prioritize economy at the cost of fun. It also makes me very reluctant to try out a new one. This is the first time I hear about cryptoshots.
As @cryptoshots.nft mention the tokenomics here is much different than many other games.

Finding that balance isn't easy. Some want fun, others want rewards. But I hear what you are saying. With Fun being prioritized that will help with user acquisition and retention which should lead to a robust economy.
@costanza we are not selling anything and we haven't done so in 2+ years. We are focuses on development and the game now is mostly free-to-earn backed by 20 K HBD in savings generating yield distributed to players.

When I go to the game page, it starts out fine, but after like 5 minutes of me trying to do stuff, it gets really like and eventually the website crashes my whole browser.

Interesting, at the moment I'm on an old work PC that I can't play games on but when I visited the webpage everything went smoothly for the 10 or so minutes I was exploring it.
Maybe it depends on the browser, I use Chrome.
That's a possibility.
I was on FireFox at the time.
@tsnaks To play the game Brave works the best (double frame rate compared to all others). Firefox is the second best and Chrome/Edge are the worst :)

I'm waiting for the site to be better on Chrome before I start playing it. I played it when I originally bought my stuff on WAX blokchain, but havent played since.
Really hope you get Chrome to work better soon.
Makes sense. Chrom is known to be a RAM eater but we're working on some optimizations that will make it much smoother there too. We had them in place and we saw a 20% improvement but we had to roll them back due to some visual glitches. It will be live soon! (max in a month I think)
I often use Chrome, and I don't have issues.
Maybe it's because I don't surf the website very much, I basically just go to the play website, log in and play 😃

Worth mentioning that the game is free-to-earn from Sunday to Thursday. You only need a Hive account!
Every single day at 10am EST we have free-to-earn games! Fri/Sat/Sun it's Karts/Poker/Chess.

OTHER NOTES:
Damn, the website needs a lot of updates. It has no updates for 2024, but if you follow our X profile or join our Discord you'll find them all in the dev-updates channel
In the team we now have more external collaborators. It's about 5/6 more people between developers and designers. They are not part of the core team but they contribute as freelancers.
The whitepaper defo needs some love too as it's now 3 years old 😅
We are currently focused on development rather than marketing, so thank you for helping us on that as we feel like we should post much more on HIVE since we're doing so many things for Hive with little broader visibility :)
Read all your notes and responses to others, thanks for all the info and thanks for responding to others here in this post. I'll be creating an update post to this current one sometime next week with all the details you shared here. Poker..... Poker .... did someone say Poker. Once I have the time to and get a laptop set up, I'll jump in some of those games.
The poker is every Saturday at 3pm UTC.
This weekend I played from my phone as it doesn't require any specific software, just a browser 😊
Sometimes (mostly when I'm happy and had some beers) there are also KO prizes for busting me in poker 😅
