Success can only be defined by one's self

'success'. Many people work for it, many dream of it, some even lie to themselves that they have it, while some don't know what it is or have a definition for it. The meaning of success varies from person to person.

A common definition for success is having a lot of money, having wealth. First I would like to put something out here, wealth not just means a person having money. Wealth is being able to say that you can feed your family for the future to come.

I define success as something personal because it is the achievement of ones goals and satisfaction. And if there is something I have learnt along the way of life is that no one can give you true satisfaction but yourself. I don't think there is anything more satisfying than earning what you put in work for.

Okay let's take an example of a man who makes twenty million in a year. Many will say "having that amount of money a year, he has found success", but if the man's goal was to make a hundred million a year he is not yet successful. Because he has set out a goal and irrespective of every other person's view, he has not been able to achieve his goal. He hasn't gotten the satisfaction he desires.

Success is a personal opinion, cause someone can reach his goals of climbing half a mountain and decide his goal should be reaching the very top of the mountain.
Success for me is not only having money but also having a sound and healthy family. I often see men who are rich and still have children who are headaches to everyone one in the society. To be successful you have to make sure your family is productive and is how you plan your family to be. One can be a successful business man and still be a failure when it comes to being a father, which also depends on what he considers a successful father to be like. He might have all the money and still have no say in his children's lives and fail in raising his children.

My bar for being successful has been called too high some times by some people. But just like I said before these are goals I have set out for myself and no one else.
Firstly, I have to be wealthy. I have to be satisfied with what I do for a living. Then I have to be fit and healthy, you know what the saying "health is wealth". My children need to be successful too. Finally a happy and comfortable family. These are all the goals I have set myself to achieve, which have automatically been set as my success bar. So if I achieved all of these but with one left I can't tell myself I am successful and if I achieved all, then I can proudly and comfortably call myself a successful man. That is success for me.
