No one expects you to know EVERYTHING, that’s what we are here for!
Check out the top 3 things to double, or even triple check in your credit report.
1. Personal Information
Be sure to check to make sure that your full name, phone number, address (including previous addresses) are accurate, spelled correctly, and are fully complete.
This information is the most important part of your credit report. While there are many people in this world, accounts belonging to another person that have a similar name as yours can be mixed. This is called a “mixed file” and incorrect accounts can result in identity theft or an inaccurate screening.
2. Account Status
When looking at your credit report, check to make sure your account status is correct.
Check to make sure that all of your open accounts are accurate, along with your closed accounts. In some cases, credit reports will show that you have open accounts that are closed and vice versa.
On top of that, make sure that all of your accounts that are reported late or delinquent are accurate as well. With that, dig deeper into your payment dates. If there are incorrect reports of your last payment, date opened, or date of delinquency, be sure to report this discrepancy.
3. Account Balance
Take a close look at your account balances on your credit report.
Two of the most common errors, in this case, are accounts with incorrect current balances and accounts with an incorrect credit limit.
Your credit report should provide you with instructions on how to dispute any inaccurate/incomplete information. But overall, if you find ANY incorrect information in any of these cases, you should contact the company that sent you the credit report as soon as possible.

Lately, I've spent a good amount of time working on my credit score and review my report every single month (free through Experian).
It's made a huge different - I've jumped over 160 points in about 13 months simply by disputing items on my report - which has now opened the door for more opportunities :)
