National youth service Corps (NYSC) is a year community service to the country. Nigeria is known for her diversity in culture, lifestyle, food, religion. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a program set up by the Nigerian government to involve Nigerian graduates between the age of 18years to 30years, in nation building and the development of the country.
I graduated from school May 2019, and I register for NYSC in November to serve my country. I'm from the south south region and I was posted to the North, never thought in my life I'll visit the North soonest after graduation but as fate will have it, I was posted to Dankigari camp in kebbi state.

I've always look forward to the day I'll serve my country, as part of my obligation as a citizen to serve humanity and as well wearing NYSC Uniform (Khaki ), is of great honor ☺. At the beginning of NYSC there's three weeks mandatory training every corp member must participate in, exceptional to those with health issues. Corp member are trained in different camp across the state. During the three weeks training as results of the large population we are placed into groups named platoon. I was in platoon 5 and I was elected as the director of social in my platoon. There are varieties of activities carried out during the three weeks training such as match parade, games contest between different platoons like football, volley ball, basketball; drilling exercises, carnival party, skills acquisition and entrepreneurial development program, food competition, social night; I represented my platoon in a dance contest and lot more. Camp was fun, educative and quite eventful. During the course of my NYSC program, I made new friends in camp, learnt about the northern culture and their religion. In the picture below, you can see me in Fulani attire, I look beautiful in the dress.

At the end of the three weeks training, I redeploy to the west and I was assigned to a hospital, my place of primary assignments (PPA), and I was given two weeks break to go back home to get all necessary items needed to continue my service program. During the course of my service, there's a community I work with name, drug free community development service.
I and my group team did health program talk in school about drugs, educating the students on how to avoid excessive use of psychoactive drugs, such as alcohol, pain medications or illegal drugs. It can lead to physical, social or emotional harm.

Sadly, By March 2020, there was lockdown as results Covid-19 and everyone was told to stay indoor to prevent spreading the virus. All non essential activities stop, I travel back home to visit my family and stayed at home for six months due to the lockdown.

By August, lockdown was lifted and I resume my work at my place of primarily assignment (PPA), had to adhere to the preventive measures such as wearing facemask, sanitize my hand, keeping social distance when working. Literally everything change, but truly I appreciate every moment and experience from camp and during the course of the program.

My service program came to an end by October 2020, and I appreciate the Federal Government of Nigeria for organizing this program with the purpose to foster national unity and cohesion.
