A disguised call

What is that sound, I heard it but too lazy to get up. It was the ring of my phone. It became dead once more as I squirreled to get more sleep. Early morning sleep can't be taken for granted.

It came once more ringing one more time, with eyes closed. I stretch out my hands looking for my phone, unable to find it, I opened my eyes half way successfully got the phone.

I checked the caller ID, unknown number

"Hmmm, who remembered me this morning?" I thought to myself, relutantly I picked it up.

"Hello! In-between yarns

"Yello, is this Jeclyn?"

I was quiet for sometime, trying to comprehend the accent, it wasn't familar. My relative over there doesn't even have my number. Having conversation with him on Facebook was full of snubbed message.

I checked my phone one last time, it was a foreign number, I was at the verge of contemplating whether to say yes or no as the memory came flooding one more time. I never wanted to remember, I thought I shut it out but it came back again.

I slipped into depression, the day I was scammed it was an emotional torture stabbing me bit by bit in my heart. It took some time before I came back to my old self.

Blackmailing is real, scamming is real. I didn't need an advicer to sound that in my ears, experience is the best teacher. I was extremely careful, you won't believe how extremely careful and consious Iam this days. I never wished to slip into depression anymore.

The piecing silence have hovered the tension over the phone as the person awaits for my response, one thing was sure I won't deny my name.

"Yes, it's Jeclyn"
"How may I help you?" My tone firm and cold.

"I'm Elon musk, I got an information that you are my long gone daughter.

Confusion set in as I couldn't comprehend what the person over the phone was saying. I cut the call.

"Elon musk" I muttered several times, pacing from one corner of my room to the other. I haven't heard the name before. Vividly it wasn't a Nigerian name. The call came in one more time, I quickly ignored.

With the help of my google, I typed in the name, with widened eyes I read through every information bearing the name, my heart thudding in my chest

"This guy is worth trillions, what?"

In my deep thought on what the next move was,I was utterly confused as I couldn't make a decision at the moment, my phone on my hands. The call came in one more time.

I picked up on the first ring and awaits for the person over the line.

"I know it's hard for you to take in, but....

I couldn't allow him to finish up, I could feel migraines trying to comprehend what I was hearing. "How is that even possible?" I asked

I scratched my head, picturing my mum and dad.

"No no no no no"

"It's not possible"

"Why don't we meet I will explain better"

"I will meet with you but I will choose the venue" These days I'm becoming picky, you wouldn't blame me that's all I have to do to stay safe.

"Fine" I gave the address and he gave me date and time before the call dropped.

I was pounding whether to tell someone but how was I going to put it, I placed from one corner to another. So many thoughts flooding my head. One thought came in "you know you have being scammed before, you shouldn't go for this" I shoveled that off, I need to find out before letting anyone know and I needed to get to the root of the matter.

The day came, I set out with my shades I went to the venue which I have picked, my hands wet as I kept tapping my hand on my leg, what I do whenever I'm anxious. I sat down slightly panicking and looking around like someone who lost her way.

A gentleman walked up to me dressed in black tuxedo with a black shade.

"Are you miss Jeclyn, my boss will love to speak with you please follow me"

I got up, every step was full of anticipation and uncertainty as I follow the guy behind, we got to a black car.

"Big head" I looked to where the voice was coming from, the only person that calls me that was my childhood friend but haven't heard from him for a while.

He removed his shade, I could recognize him, it was him Joseph. I screamed out.

"Don't tell me this was all a prank" he laughed at me. I was happy he was back. Elon musk in disguise as my childhood friend.
