This is Lila

Lovey has a friend! And he is so happy. I am too because I was, only a little bit, unsure if he would accept her readily and he has.

When we first met her, she was with her mama still. The people who own her mama don't feed her. She scrounges for food and do she is often at my "cuñada's" house, where the kids share scraps with her.

She was with her brother, who is much smaller and skinnier than her. Some other neighbors have adopted the brother puppy, but they immediately started to chase off the mama when she came around to nurse him. That's why he is little and skinny. It makes me sad and angry.

Thankfully, Lila got to stay with her mama longer, nursing, and so she is big and strong. She's got some big little paws and so even though her mother is a small dog, she seems to be a future big girl.

She's good with the chickens already and had no desire to chase them. I bring her with me every morning to open their house up, so she knows how to behave with them and it's working.

She's very clever and follows me around most of the day. And she likes to lay on the cool tiles of the bathroom floor where the sink pipe drips on her hiney, in the heat of midday.

Today we learned that she likes to play in the mud. Thankfully, she also cleaned herself of in the rain. She's had a bath and some antiparasitic powder in her fur and an internal antiparasitic as well. She will need to get checked out at the vet and all her basic stuff soon.
At first, we didn't have any cash to get puppy food. But Lovey was happy to share his kibble and we mixed it with fresh cow's milk.

Lovey is learning to play a bit more gentle, because this tough little girl will back away growling and bearing her teeth otherwise! She sleeps next to the bed for now, and she will get her own lovely dog house soon... And we'll fix Lovey's dog house too... We didn't take into account that he would want to chill on the roof like Snoopy... So he broke the roof and it needs to have more reinforcing beams underneath. Ok.

Play in the mud!

¡Lovey tiene un amiga! Y está muy contento. Yo también lo estoy porque estaba, sólo un poco, insegura de si la aceptaría de buen grado y lo ha hecho.

Cuando la conocimos, aún estaba con su mamá. Los dueños de su mamá no la alimentan. Gorronea la comida y suele estar en casa de mi cuñada, donde los niños comparten las sobras con ella.

Estaba con su hermano, que es mucho más pequeño y flaco que ella. Otros vecinos han adoptado al cachorro hermano, pero enseguida han empezado a echar a la mamá cuando se acercaba a amamantarlo. Por eso es pequeño y flaco. Me entristece y me enfada.

Por suerte, Lila pudo estar más tiempo con su mamá, amamantándola, y por eso está grande y fuerte. Tiene unas patitas enormes y por eso, aunque su madre es una perrita pequeña, ella parece ser una futura niña grande.

Ya se porta bien con las gallinas y no tenía ningún deseo de perseguirlas. La traigo conmigo todas las mañanas para abrirles la casa, para que sepa cómo comportarse con ellas y está funcionando.

Es muy lista y me sigue casi todo el día. Y le gusta tumbarse en las frías baldosas del suelo del cuarto de baño, donde la tubería del lavabo gotea sobre su culito, en pleno mediodía.

Hoy hemos aprendido que le gusta jugar en el barro. Por suerte también se ha limpiado con la lluvia. La hemos bañado y le hemos puesto un antiparasitario en polvo en el pelo y un antiparasitario interno también. Pronto tendrá que ir al veterinario para que le revisen todo lo básico.
Al principio, no teníamos dinero para comprar comida para cachorros. Pero Lovey estaba encantada de compartir sus croquetas y se las mezclamos con leche fresca de vaca.

¡Lovey está aprendiendo a jugar un poco más suave, porque esta niña dura retrocederá gruñendo y enseñando los dientes de lo contrario! Por ahora duerme al lado de la cama, y pronto tendrá su propia casita de perro... Y también arreglaremos la caseta de Lovey... No tuvimos en cuenta que querría relajarse en el tejado como Snoopy... Así que rompió el techo y necesita más vigas de refuerzo debajo. Ok.
