Before I start, may I introduce myself? I am Donna Fe R. Sambrana, turning 20 this upcoming March 23, 2005. I live in Barangay Tagjaguimit City of Naga Cebu, a place known for the “City of the Lights.”

Can you guess who this charming munchkin is? Ahem, excuse me, that’s me, “Donna Fe, “ but I hate to be called “Fe” because it sounds “coffee,” so you can call me “Donna or Nana” for short. When I was young, I was always curious or wondering about what my life would come to be in the future and asking myself, “Am I worthy enough? ” and “What’s my purpose in this world? ” . As a little one I was a very naughty, caring, and loving daughter. I’m not into sports but I love to play badminton and I want to learn how to play volleyball or any outdoor activities. I have a lot of things that really suit my identity. First is I can stand out as full of energy wherever I am. Secondly, I am kind and generous to those who are kind and generous to me, Eme. Lastly, I can play a game without knowing that it’s a game, hehehe.

When I was a kid, I really enjoyed playing “The National Games” (larong pinoy) with my childhood friends, relatives, and my cousin. We used to play the “tumbang preso,” also called tumbang lata or bato lata, in our province. This game involved throwing a slipper at a can or battle, which one player is called (taya or hagu); he/she will attempt to protect the can so that player can’t hit the can or “lata.”. Next is luksong baka; you need to jump over the person who is called baka (cow), and then our main goal as a player is to successfully jump over the baka without touching, hitting, or falling over the baka. These traditional games make my childhood complete, perfect, and the most memorable moments happen in my life.

I loved to listen bisaya love song because of the unique charm that touches my soul deeply. The main reason i adore bisaya song is the way how they express the emotions vividly. Also the lyrics are often filled with heartfelt feeling of love and devotion. It makes me feel as if im experiencing the emotions right along with the singer. Another aspect is i love the musicality and melodies that really catch my attention to listen and it gives me more energetic. I really believed that music has a power to transcend your feelings, emotions and express what you feel.

I have been a consistent honor student since high school, even though I’m not that smart and brilliant a person. This is so meaningful to me because receiving achievements and awards in school is my dedication to being more active participants and more motivated for my schools. Also, my pleasure to receive like this, as a gift or payback for all of the sacrifices of my undying support system, which is my Family.

Way back in the year 2022-2023, I graduated with honors from Uling Senior High School. Taking the HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) in Academic Stand. Actually, it has a story about why it happened, why I became an honor student. I’ll share a glimpse of the story behind this. So for me as a “Naning student, “ this award is really meant for me because of my hard work and passion for my studies; I deserve that achievement. Before it happened, my adviser posted all the achievers and honors for our batch, but sad to say, my name wasn’t there. Fast forward, one day before my graduation, my adviser talked to me and gave some advice; she said, “Bawi sunid langga. “ Then I nodded and smiled. But I’m not expecting what will happen next. When I got home, I received a message from my adviser; she said, “You are the one who will walk the aisle and step up the stage to get your award.” Oh my gosh, my heart! That message makes my heart flutter, but I didn’t inform my love once; that’s my biggest surprise for them because I informed them before that I wasn’t receiving an award. I’m also receiving an “Invaluable Service as SSG representative. “

However, I didn’t stop after senior high school. I applied to Cebu Technological University, Naga Extension Campus for my new journey as a college. Thanks to God, I passed the entrance exam and the interview. Now, I’m currently in my second year of college pursuing a Bachelor of Elementary Education major in General Content. Actually, education is not my first choice course, but because of financial stability, I cannot pursue the dream I really desire. BS nursing is my first choice; my heart is into medicine, but due to the tuition fee being expensive, I choose to continue education because I am a lucky one who passed the CTU, and it’s my privilege to be part of CTU because a lot of examiners didn’t pass the entrance exam nor get a chance to take a slot.

In my first year of college, I encountered a lot of challenges in my mental health. My asthma was triggered due to the dust because the CTU facility was not yet finished. Despite these challenges, I quickly passed all the circumstances. Even though education is not my first choice, I am willing to continue what I’ve started because I believe that if education is really meant for me, then it is meant for me. By the gods grace and mercy. I’ll make it my stepping stone for my upcoming future. Looking back the struggles I faced now, I overshadowed by the pride I feel about how far I’ve come now . But this journey is uniquely mine and has not only prepared me to become an educator but also revealed my strength and my passions. I never knew I possessed that; that’s why I always say “PADAYON KAUGALINGON MAHUMAN RAKA PUHON “.

I’m glad that I have a friend in my section. I met them the first day of class when I was in first year. Our bond solidified through mutual understanding and unwavering support of each other. Our friendship is built on shared vulnerabilities, honest conversation, and unspoken understanding that transcends distance and time. All of them know my deepest fears and my wildest hopes. Our friendship isn’t perfect but it’s messy, with its share of disagreement and misunderstanding sometimes. But it’s also the real one, the most unforgettable shared experiences and unwavering loyalty of friendship.

I want to express my dearest thanksgiving to those people who aspired to be part of this community. To Mother Earth Coleen @helianthus-chloe I want to say thank you for giving me a chance to express, share my thoughts, ideas and most importantly for trusting my capabilities. Thank you Mama Coleen for always being there for me. You’re always here to guide and always open when I need help or I have a question. Your encouragement is really meant for me.
