The Best Things I Like About the Philippines

in #hiveph4 years ago

The Philippines is a beautiful country. It has a lot of potentials waiting to be harnessed. The best things I like about the Philippines are the place itself, the foods, culture, the people, and freedom.

1.The Place

The Philippines is a country of vacation. The Philippines being an archipelago is almost surrounded by beaches and resorts and Boracay is one of my favorites. I was born in the province (Aklan) where Boracay is located but I rarely went into the place. Every time we went to our province we make sure to include Boracay on our route.

2.The food

The Philippines Lechon and Native Kakanin (dessert).
During big celebrations and fiesta, lechon is usually the superstar surrounded by desert. Philippine dishes are not as spicy compared to other countries dishes but it just suits right to Filipinos' taste buds

3.Culture

Filipinos are very hospitable. We take care of our guests as much as we can afford and sometime more than we can afford. We provide the best without thinking about the rest. The guest wouldn't even notice we are already broke. Filipinos has a high value for respect especially with the elderly. I am not sure if it is still the same until now. As the years pass the culture changes and influenced by many factors.

4.Freedom

I had work outside the Philippines and mingled with other nationality and I saw how different it is from the other side of the world. Some country has a culture that disallows certain thing and some country has laws that prohibit another thing. Other nationalities from would love to go to the Philippines do this and do that. The Philippines being a democratic country is a country where people are as free as a bird but it is sad to say that there are still many that can't appreciate it.

5.The people

Filipinos are one of the happiest and most resilient people on earth. We can smile even in difficult circumstances. There are saying that Filipinos are like bamboo. It only bends during a strong typhoon but managed to stand again after the storm.

Thanks for sharing @jwynqc. I can certainly say Filipinos are among the most adaptable people in the world, and adjust to a new culture and language faster than any other people I've ever known.

I can certainly say Filipinos are among the most adaptable people in the world, and adjust to a new culture and language faster than any other people I've ever known.

It is maybe due to the events that happened in the past. Many cultures were introduced during Spanish, Japanese, American colonization and we have a big population of China. We learned to mixed all that cultures and built a culture that is variable or shall I say adaptable to many cultures.

My apology. I forgot to include the link to Hive PH Contest: 5 Best Things About the Philippines
