Hello everyone! Welcome back to @lorene08's blog. In my last post, I described a very exciting activity we had in our Oral Communication subject in the 1st semester, called "Art Museum Gallery." Today, I am going to share about it all!
Around November, our Oral Communication teacher announced that to introduce a new topic for the 2nd quarter, we would be doing an activity called Art Museum Gallery. I already had somewhat of an idea about this from what I heard from past Grade 11 students. Both excitement and nervousness filled me.
I was so happy when the names of the groupmates were announced because I was with my close friends. On November 7, with our group leader, we began our brainstorming session. We had originally thought of having a Halloween theme since November would be Halloween month. However, we dropped that idea as it seemed too plain, and we had a feeling other groups might go for the same thing. Since our leader is into mystery games, she came up with the idea of the theme being "Murder Mystery." We immediately agreed because it was really unique and it fit our assigned topic which was to persuade.
Preparation Day🔖
November 8, 2024, we began gathering materials and finalizing our plans. Our leader arranged to present while the others were tasked to act. That day was tiring because it needed to be super creative, especially when most would be going for Disney themes (which were super cute by the way).
We almost skipped lunch just to rush to the nearest computer shop to get all the designs printed and all the information about our presentation. While we waited, my two groupmates and I walked around the place and discovered some clothes on sale. Since we were bored, we checked them out. They spotted pink shorts and shirts, and they looked so adorable so I took a picture of them (I looked like their mom or nanny, lol). After printing what we needed, we rushed back to school since it was almost 1 PM.

Presentation Day🎉
The day has come, November 11, 2024. Everyone was excited yet nervous, knowing that our work would be critiqued by other teachers. Thankfully, our subject teachers found it in their hearts to give us extra time from their periods to prepare, and we were extremely grateful.
Preparing for the big day was all sorts of fun, we laughed, jammed to music, got a little carried away, and thought that even though we had plenty of time to prepare, we never had enough! After lunch, our group cleaned the classroom and changed into costumes related to our group theme. We also joked around a bit, some of my classmates went ahead and did face painting, while we teased them, saying, "What if the activity gets canceled?". The looks on their faces were priceless😭
Then, we took a quick incomplete group. We even put red food coloring on the face of one of our groupmates for the presentation(he was freaking out if the red might stick on his white polo, lol)
We didn't even realize that it was already time for all of us to present. When it was finally our turn. Our "Murder Mystery" theme came to life. Of course, we couldn't possibly do it without a murder victim, a killer, an officer, and an investigator! Our group of six consists of our leader cast as the investigator/presenter, Emmanuel as the police officer, JJ as the “dead” businessman, I was the killer and the other two group mates(Mj and Cheyenne) observed the presentations from the other groups.
Everything went well with the presentation, it was a SUCCESSFUL one, and all of our nervousness faded. Then, it was time to celebrate and take pictures with our classmates, our teachers, and of course, our booth. We even provided a mini photo booth, which was a success.
Here’s a fun twist, although everyone thought I was the killer because of my orange outfit, it turned out the real killer was our investigator (our leader)! It caught everyone off guard, especially since some thought the police officer was the killer. It was such a fun moment! Oh, and guess what? We won 3rd Place for Best Booth Design!!
(Here are the booths from Group 1-6🙇♀️)
Group 1 Theme: Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour
Group 2 Theme: Coco
Group 3 Theme: Trolls
Group 4 Theme: Halloween
Group 5 Theme: Ghibli
Group 6 Theme: Murder Mystery
To wrap up this blog, here’s a quote from Pelé: "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing". This quote fits perfectly for today's blog because our success in the activity was all thanks to teamwork, creativity, and effort. We may have been tired and stressed, but it was all worth it in the end. Thank you for reading my blog, everyone! See you in the next post!
