I would love to see @peakd add some sort of verified badge for people who are using a verified punk (ie a profile pic they own). This would be super cool and drive adoption and stop fraud. Any thoughts on this @jarvie, I know your a punk fan ?
Maybe a solution will be to create an endpoint on your domain. Something like:
https://punks.usehive.com/avatar/asgarth/5423
That will resolve in the punk image only if the account asgarth own the punk 5423. Otherwise in a 404 error.
Will be slower the first time, But after that the CDN and the cache should handle it pretty well. And every 6/12 hours the CDN will expire and will need to be validated again.
It would be nice of course and @asgarth helped Marky with the project as well ... not sure it's high level importance but if it doesn't take a lot of time I'm all for it.
What would you suggest. A border around the circle for the profile? A small symbol? If so what?
It would have to be something that goes outside the boundaries of the normal image area so you could not am just screen grab it and upload as a profile pic manually.
I do have planned adding a badge, but it will hard to verify they are using an image they are using without some machine learning to detect the image.
