I have seen a lot of models on Facebook, magazines , TikTok and Instagram. Most models on social media I have seen are top circular celebrities. They normally used them to advertise a product like, design shoes, cars, design bags, gold chains, detergent, and even to a point of advertising a company for more patronization. I remember I asked some people about this modelling of a thing and few persons I have asked told me all those celebrities I have seen doing modelling are well paid and recognize in the circular societies we live now. One even told me this top celebrities do turned out some offer from some companies or organization calling them for some deals if the payments doesn't fits or the organization can't afford the prize the celebrities might have demanded.
But to me, having the dream of becoming a model or wanting to do modeling isn't about the money they do pay or becoming a public figure or becoming popular on social media or blogs only without knowing the implications of what you present to people or society through modelling positively. To me modeling is a lifestyle and is a way of showing people what I loved and have passion for. Fashion is something I've done in my life since I was a child. I loved being neat, clean, and I have learned about colors combination, how to select clothes base on colors that will fits an outfit for some specific events or occasion.
I was given a prize in my secondary school days for being one of the most fashionable or neat guy in my class.
There's something about fashion or modelling that most people doesn't know about it. A lot of people thinks modelling is all about taking a photographing, being show in a TV show or your pictures being show in a magazines only. That's why some ladies will copy some celebrities modelling lifestyle of dressing half naked, exposing their body parts and men will dye their heads will colors dye and wear some kind of clothes or outfits that will make them look inresponsible.
I want to become a model of a good emulation. I want to be a public figure in social media that youths will see and learn positively from me that will better their lives. To me modelling is far more than just wearing design clothes, shoes, being in the social media handles but is something that gives me joy. I have loved fashion till an extent I could saved money for weeks or months just to buy a particular designers I want. Considering the fact in my church there are some subgroups I have joined like the choir, boys brigade and youth fellowship. Most time this subgroups often demanded we wear some certain uniforms occasionally to appears neat, smart and uniformly in Sunday services. As I grew in some of the church subgroups, my knowledge for colours combinations and dressing nearly has became a top notch.
Modelling is a way of showing people of who you are, what you represent. Modelling should be something worth emulating in the lives of youths positivity and not influencing them negatively or corrupting their minds with bàd pictures that will corrupt their minds.
There's an adage in African culture that says " You will be address the way you dress" . If you model a design clothes and you dress half naked and exposing your body parts that's how those people that are looking at you will address you in the society.
The greatest challenges that weakens my fashion lifestyle was the inability to have a sponsor or an agent that will guide and put me through the modelling process. I've tried talking to some local photographers in my area about my passion for modelling but most of them doesn't believe in modelling as a field of advancing and equipping the youths or doesn't gives them money. This photographers are just looking for someone that will come to their studio, snap and pay the money they have charged for the studio pictures.
They don't see any good and profitable reasons to invest their time on me because of my dream of becoming a model. But I know and believe one-day my dream of becoming a model will come to fulfilment. Either I will have a sponsor or agent or I will be connected to someone that will connect me with the right people. Thank you guys for reading, goodbye and I love you guys!!
