Hey folks, the hits just keep on coming with HiveStreams.Live!
Today I rolled out three major improvements and of course, there is SO much more on the way.
I made the red notification dot and indicators throughout the site ONLY appear if you have new notifications, formerly they were red dots with zeros in them during testing and I finally fixed that.
I added new sections to the channel listing views so that Live NOW streamers are sorted to the top. The rest remain sorted by profile view count popularity as the base view for now, but you can always use the many category search filters too. More ways to search, filter and sort are coming, promise! I am just ONE MAN! :)
And last but DEFINITELY not least:
Direct Streamer Tipping by viewers and fans in any almost Hive Related Currency!
This is now a built in basic level of functionality, with plans to make that experience even more exciting as well, already underway. I found the perfect easy button to plug in tipping right away, using a site made by @bambukah who in turn relies on the familiar Hive Keychain to safely handle a transaction directly between you and the streamer, You can choose Hive, HBD, or any tradable Hive Engine token type to send to your favorite show hosts to encourage them to keep providing YOU with great content to watch and participate in.

A word about using HiveSigner on my site as the only method of login right now. When all of you are asking for Keychain and I am espousing it for your financial transactions via HiveLive.me tipping services.
First of all, we all know it's easy, safe and free to use in your browsers...
but SirCork, you shout, your own site uses HiveSigner!

About that. I am having a helluva a time getting Keychain to work in my site's software stack, HiveSigner let me get the doors open for this alpha public testing/review phase, and I'll get back to keychain in a minute. For now, you only need to login to my site and hivesigner does that easily enough at the moment, Soon, your keychain will work too. I promise. It's high priority, but it's eaten days and nights of my time, when I was able to do the rest of the site in less than two weeks otherwise. So far. SO MUCH MORE TO COME though!
Whats coming next?
Short term and most immediate needs are a better chat room experience that is also more plugin friendly for OBS Studio broadcasters and similar apps that let you drop in overlays like that,

LIVE NOW Blog Posts when a HiveStreams starts up a new HiveStream, possibly later Scheduled Schedule posts or when they post new time schedules inside HiveStreamer, for example. Things that blog, will happen! But appropriately, and usefully, not spammy nonsense. We all hate that crap.
Also, better and more graceful handling of the ending of streams, that currently do not buffer out or clean up the chat room and viewing page very well. It just stops when the streamer hits the button, instantly and you miss their last 30 seconds or so of video that needed to buffer out to you, before they cut the connection like a bad guy with lock cutters at midnight in the local self storage facility.
Anyway... lots more is coming, more chain integrations, more financial methodologies to improve curation and rewards for creators and viewers who support the Hive ecosystem and build community while using the HiveStreams.Live site and so much more. More MORE.
The main goal is to intersect with the Hive contributing community in lots of possible ways, like supporting @bambukah's tipping app rather than hastily inventing my own and using Keychain or Hivesigner to create and handle your account authentication and I'm sure I'll end up interfacing with other apps and systems along the way, sharing and connecting and somewhat decentralizing or at least disconnecting centralization away from a monolithic HiveStreams site.

Very cool! So tipping is the only option for supporting creators on the site? Obviously the posts that get created can be upvoted, but are there plans to have an upvote button (alongside?) the tip/donation button on the stream page? I see you mentioned "more financial methodologies to improve curation and rewards for creators and viewers who support the Hive ecosystem" but I was hoping for a little more clarification of that statement.
Either way, this is awesome! I'll be keeping my eyes on this and maybe I'll even manage to get some streams in once in a while.
Oh there are ALL the plans for all the things. But I'm just one guy and I've only been making this for about a week so far. lol
If you check out the announcement post on my blog from making it all public a couple days ago, it says more about that, as does the info on the homepage of HiveStreams.

Gotcha, I will definitely follow up in those other places!
I try to keep compiling the posts and other peoples posts about it on the @hivestreams account which is also 3 days old or whatever, as far as posting on it goes.
All of this is very zero-day right now. But I am just one guy, no team, no publicist, no discord mods, nobody but me, and I am of course, getting all the same questions from all the folks in all the venues, so I try to post as much as I can around the 20 hour programming day cycles :)
