News Coated With Lies.

Being informed and staying tuned to the current events and happenings around us is crucial to our living. There has been m-pox disease in a particular region of my country for about 2 weeks and I didn't know until I started I stumbled on the news notification from one the browsers on my phone. It was then that I decided to check it out and was surprised it wasn't new.

I hardly listen to the news on Tv or radio even though I know that news are important because they keep us informed about events in our neighborhood, society, state and country. I grew up in a house where it is normal to watch news every night, the 9pm and 10pm news preferably. We don't miss it whenever my dad is with us, as young kids we could still understand whatever information was shared on the news. Well, things changed as the governmnet of the country became less responsible to their duty, yet, presenting a different story on the news. To be honest, I think we started having more lies on the news to the degree at which the government became more irresponsible to many of their duties.

Now, I hardly can force myself to read the news. This is not because I do not like to stay informed, but it is because of quality of truths and presentation in these news, it annoys me 70% of times that sit to watch news that these people haven't changed a bit, the same system, same manner and pattern of doing things, presenting the news (even the lies).

Why tell obvious lies with confidence?.. Another part thay annoys me is the victims of this news, I mean those who listen to this news (mostly Tv and radio news). The demograph is usually around 45 upwards, they believe almost everything; both the half truth and the lies shared on the news and guess the crazy part, these set of adult will indirectly force it on their younger children. Thank God for social media and the exposure many of the youth and few adults have gotten, we no longer believe everything from the news. We rather verify from trusted sources and do more research ourselves from several source both online and offline.

One of my go-to platform is X (formerly Twitter). All I need to do is check if a particular news I heard of is trending and I begin to read till I have convinced that the news was true or not. Another trusted platform is a News station called Arise Tv here in my country. To me they are far reliable than other news stations, they try their best to broadcast nothing but truths. Unlike news stations owned by the government, they just manipulate the events and broadcast it without remorse; they have been doing it for a long time and now become masters in such act.

I'd rather read news online than watch any news on TV, worst of it is radio, they are the worse to me because you can't even see their faces and that gives them enough room to manipulate as many people that would listen to them.
