Some sports/collectible cards are simply unaffordable to must of us that are not looking to stick our entire nest egg into them, especially those that are low population rare gems from cards over 100 years old to some that aren't even 40 years old yet. Some may include rarities of like the 1984-85 Star Co Michael Jordan issue worth up to $5k easily if in high end condition. Cards of people like Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, rookies of greats like Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Walter Payton, Dick Butkus, Gale Sayers, Knute Rockne, Red Grange, Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Sandy Koufax, Nolan Ryan, even the now immortalized Shoeless Joe Jackson from Hollywood fame movies from the 1980's. Here are a few pics of some that I have acquired and enjoy seeing them in how they would have looked coming out of the pack which is really stunning even knowing that they are reprints are still really awe inspiring to those of us that really appreciate them as their clout among collectors have built up over the years...
