Thursday morning, both @clareartista and I woke up pretty tired and not feeling at our best...
It's a blessing to be free though and to live without an agenda. So different from slaving away in a job.
It is fair to say that Investing in Bitcoin and having Hive as an income/ added bonus makes a huge difference, at least over the long time ( 7+ years ).
It feels especially good on days like these, when the crypto market is having some serious upward momentum once again, after having gone through months where we needed to tighten our belts and save more and spend less.
Once Clare mentioned that she would like to go to the sea, Thursday morning, I decided to just go with the flow 🌊 and act on it.
We both took a bath and started packing our bags. And a couple of hours later we were on our way to the West coast of Portugal, to feel the energy of the Atlantic (ocean), to breathe more and get inspired.
We ended up spending not one but three nights and days at the sea, feeling into each and every moment.
Yesterday, around noon, we felt like it was time to head home once again. Time to go back to our rental house in the countryside, a couple of hours inland, a place closer to the Spanish border than to the sea.
The seaside stay sure made us think though...
No matter how nice a hilly, mountainous landscape is, Clare and I both love the sea and would like to live closer to it.
We spent the first two nights of our 'daytrip' in a hotel at the seaside, in a town called Figueira da Foz. The hotel stay was surprisingly cheap, probably because it was off-season.
The building ended up being so close to the seashore that the breaking of the waves made it pretty difficult to sleep, even more because we chose to sleep with the balcony doors open ( as both of us prefer fresh air over recycled (machine) air(conditioning) ).
Here's some pics taken from our balcony of 2 days:
The outdoor swimming pool shown above was empty this time of year and there were only a couple of handful of people in the hotel which we didn't mind :<)
Figueira da Foz is famous among surfers but one way or another there were no surfers to be seen in the two days that we spent there.
The sea was probably a bit too rough and the water a bit too cold.
I came very close to swimming, on our first afternoon there, but decided to not wade further in than my crotch, as I don't need to prove my manliness any longer being around the love of my life.
sunset at Praia da Mira
A nice fishing boat
Chilling in the sand...
Clare looking for shells and feeling the water and the sand...
Me feeling the water, slightly too cold for a swim...
And here's a snap of the cute fish shaped trash bin that tickled my fancy:
Followed by this huge 3D bird art on a wall in Praia de Mira, the smaller but still big enough seaside town where we spent the third and last night of our trip. You gotta love that the artist even tried to simulate splashes of bird poo ( white paint? ) to add some much needed realism . Or perhaps that's just my imagination ;<)
And here's some pics taken with my super lowres Nokia phone ( more on the reason behind that in my posts: Getting smarter by ditching my smartphone and From Smart to Smarter with a Dumb Phone)
Clare with her camera (bag)
Footsteps in the sand...
And, to end this post on a creative note, here's some amazing colorful art that we stumbled upon near the sea...
TO BE CONVINUED ( possibly with a post and more photos of the place where we spend night 3 of our trip, Praia de Mira...)
I'd say that bird shit is authentic, added after the fact by the local birds.
I know what you mean about living near the sea. I've always lived on the coast and now I'm inland I miss it terribly.
I love the sea as well, my dream is to have an house near it and go whenever you want!
Keep focusing on that dream and one day it might become reality.
Aaah, I love seeing these snapshots of our magical trip, dearest man; you make me smile so much!
PS, don't shout hallo when you come home, as I may be recording a podcast upstairs!
I will stay out for a couple of hours longer so enjoy your time alone xx
Just enough time to record a rambling monologue around crypto!
😍
