Holidays in Southern California

in #holiday5 years ago

It has been fairly mild, with some rain here. Although we can see snow in the mountains that surround us - to the east are the Sierra Mountain range, and northwest of us (which we can see through our hills and smaller mountains) are the San Bernardino Mountains. Being able to see the snow on the mountains while enjoying relatively warm temperatures in the 50's and 60's (or 10 to 15 in Celsius) is one of the benefits to living in Southern California.

Consequently our holiday decorations tend to look like this photo I took one morning on our daily walks - where the palm trees have lights and additional decor are provided by inflatables.

We don't generally decorate, other than a wreath on the door or perhaps some garland inside. I am too afraid that the wildlife will be harmed with all the wires and plastics. But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy other people's decor.

What do you do in terms of decorations for the holidays?
