Well, talk about a funny couple of weeks!
I pretty much put it out there in my last posts, that m'lady had taken bold steps for the 2 of us in a health and wellbeing funk and in conjunction with my birthday, decided that we were gettin' outta the country.
I know that forefront in her thinking is that the 2 of us have had a crap time of it lately.
In many ways she was right!
Gettin' out of this hellhole (ungrateful, I know) was very, very much what the doctor ordered. Sun, sea, sand and Piña colada made me breathe out in a carefree, summer flavoured way that felt alien to my recent life.
We met 2 YouTubers from Sunny beach Bulgaria that we had been watching for the past few weeks, they are travel vloggers from the resort albeit not your average vloggers...
Andrew and Susan are older than your average travel vloggers, (think early 60's) they have retired from England to Bulgaria and I envy and respect them so much for that.
Add the fact that they started a YouTube channel in their golden years and my respect is ramped up by the power of 10.
After chatting with Andrew a lot about his channel/retirement/emigrating rejuvenated me, and I DO want to talk more about their inspiring story, but that was NOT the whole story of the week...
Remember when these were a thing???
Yup! The Rona reared it's damn ugly head and first of all my lovely lady was utterly Covidized, next up I was Ronafied, sadly, it wasn't a short or mild visit...
After a couple of strange, spaced out, utterly delirious days at the end of our holiday, we were to endure a Disney Fantasia style flight back to the UK.
Masks, dehydration flavoured hallucinations and all round skeletal nastiness ensued and a 4ish hour flight was reduced to a short series of trippy waking/sleeping moments and odd experiences.
This was to be the pattern for the the next week after arriving home.
The highlights of which were m'lady trying to drink a TV remote control and me putting on a t-shirt and shorts at 3.30 am to walk down to the beach that we had left in a whole other country...
Our eldest daughter who lives at home still, did NOT live at home still, she fled our germs, ran to her boyfriends and stayed their for the week as she works in a care setting and takes her job very seriously.
She offered to go shopping and bring us whatever we wanted but would leave it on the doorstep and RUUUN...
I do NOT blame her as m'lady and I had a particularly nasty bout. From getting on the flight home we were aware of what felt like a million coughing, spluttering, moaning, aching people. Even with a mask, the recycled air of an aeroplane was gonna get many a person...
This experience has gotten right in the way of my writing plans. September started so, so well, with a post on September 1st then a whirlwind 16 posts in 16 days then a week in Bulgaria with poor connection and an inability to write, followed by the plague an awful bout of illness.
Here is the 1st of October though, the first day of Q4 of the year and I wanted to make an effort to get back to it, starting the month the way I want to go on (albeit, feeling a lot better)
I want to talk about Bulgaria much more, covid, a little tiny bit more and plans for the remainder of the year and beyond a lot more.
Happy October Hivians, may the final quarter of the year and beyond, treat you incredibly well. We will see much more of each other.
Thank YOU for taking the time to read my post and if you're one of those amazing people who like to hit the comments section... Then I doubly thank YOU!
Either way I want you to know that you are appreciated!
Keep taking the time to connect with each-other both here and in the 'so-called' real world and try and look after each-other, because as you already know...
I am an incredibly proud member of #TeamUK I love the global community immensely, but it is nice to have a home-team banner to add to my posts. The banner was made by the inimitable RoastMaster General himself @c0ff33a If you are an active UK member and would like to be added to the teamUK community on Discord, just let me know 😎

Welcome home brother. Sorry you got sick.
Did you recruit the YouTube couple to Hive?
i can share my experience of and thoughts about CVD if you are open to hearing.
i leave on Tuesday, three day drive back to Bulgaria :-)
Hello my friend, hope you are good and that drive is as stress free and comfortable as it can be. Bulgaria blew my mind in many ways and busted a lot of preconceptions I had too. The many and varied landscapes and terrains on offer are utterly fabulous, I would definitely visit again.
Your comment about the older YT couple made me laugh as I mentioned that I wrote on Hive and the ensuing explanation of blockchains and crypto and their uncomprehending questions was quite a conversation to behold.
I seem to remember we had pretty similar views on what transpired globally for that surreal couple of years (and what it will spawn in the near and longer future). Interestingly enough, many of the people I speak to, who dutifully queued for jab 1, 2, 3, and 47 after the rallying cry from the folks in the ivory towers and their bankster friends have very different views now, too little too late in many ways but still nice to see eyes, ears and minds becoming more open.
OMG I remember covid. It all seems like such a long time ago. Every time I see someone wearing a mask (probably for other reasons now) I remember those terrible days
I sometimes wonder if it all really happened, it seems so strange and bizarre thinking back to it all.
Yeah I know what ya mean, I was never really in to the whole mask thing at any time, I think the times I had to work in a mask is responsible for some respiratory problems I have now developed. I hope we never see anything like it again but I am sure our leaders enjoyed such power and control and have ideas of their own.
Thank you so much for stopping by, have a fabulous day 😎
Yikes, that sucks getting the big C on holiday. But tbh, no one really cares now, and just treat it as a normal flu. Did you take the tester with you on holiday?
Hope you're both fully recovered now
Ahahaha my friends and family would laugh at that for a long time.
Oh gosh no, I would never engage in any activity that demanded I test, nor would I ever pay for a test. because my daughter works in a care setting, she had tests at home and she works with a lot of people suffering with cancers and such and has always worried about coming in to contact with those whose immune system is shot.
So when she asked us if we would test, (much as though I didn't want to lol) we both respected her wishes due to the reasoning behind it of course. We were almost 100% certain that's what we were suffering with and once confirmed, our daughter stayed with her boyfriend so she could continue to go to work 😂
We were both pretty poorly actually, I am only now almost recovered although I think that's because I have other health things going on. It was an unwelcome reminder of that surreal period that we all lived through, (I think we did anyway, I seem to remember it being real!!!)
Looks like a lovely trip. and very interesting meeting some expat vloggers while there! Sorry you ended it on a down turn though, hope you are all recovered from the lurgy now!
Hey, hope you are doing great. Yes the trip was very welcome and hopefully punctuated the end of an extended bad period for us. I am recovering now but, I think due to other health stuff, I was utterly floored.
Gutted that there was a UK meetup while I was away but I am sure the opportunity will arise many more times. I will be in touch soon about the possibility of passing by for a brief visit and stock up, when m'lady and I pass on the way to Manchester. It would be a brief and unobtrusive visit, if convenient, as I wouldn't want to get in the way of your workday.
With regard to the couple I met, the man behind the channel was very happy to speak about content creation tips, tricks and strategies and I took the opportunity to learn as much as I could for upcoming projects.
Take good care my friend, enjoy the upcoming weekend 😎
