New Year’s Day Tradition: All Day TV

My husband is not a fan of television. In fact, he did not own one when I met him. Sometimes it is a wonder we got together in the first place … and stay together … when you look closely at our differences!

You see, I grew up with TV. Lots of it. I’d watch as much as I possibly could. Before school, after school, at friend’s houses, anywhere and everywhere. Whenever I happened to have cable TV after the age of 18 I would binge on movies. I love movies.

Anyway, my husband tends to look like a deer in headlights when he walks by a television that is on and you have to snap him out of it to get him to move along.

So imagine my surprise when he emerged from bed by noon a few years ago to start to ask us to turn off the television then changed his mind! He asked if we could make it a tradition to watch TV all day on New Year’s Day every year. I loved that idea since I was nursing a head cold and a lovely fire had been set in the fireplace by my sons.

I hopped on RedBox (we didn't have Netflix streaming or cable) and rented 3 movies … Wolverine, Freedom Force and Adventures in Zambezia. I got a lot done work-wise online while my family chilled out.

I don't think we did it the following years so I have to remind him about this!

Do you have any New Year's traditions? How do you feel about television?!
