New kitchen, post 4.

in #home6 years ago

I woke up early today so was up and working on the kitchen by 9.00 AM. We've gone a couple of days without any water downstairs so I needed to fix that.
The first job was sorting out the drainage from the sink and I quickly realised that the waste pipe needed to be moved and lowered where it would go out through the wall to the drain. After a coffee and time to think I moved the waste pipe and started putting the pipework together.

A persistent leak on the old pipework had been a major problem so I needed to get this right, solid with with no leaks.

Next up was fitting the tap, the use of flexible pipe makes things so much easier.

With all the joints tightened and double checked it was time to turn on the water and hope everything stayed dry. This was also important as with the water turned off we couldn't have any heating on and luckily the Spring weather has been mild so it wasn't needed.

So with a working sink it was time to start sorting out more cupboards and making sure they were all set to the same height for when I put the work tops on.

I've spent the remainder of the time having a bit of a clean up, washing a pile of dirty pots so in the morning I can work at fitting these new units and then moving on to running in cables for the new cooker, one of the few jobs that I do know how to do as an electrician.
