RE: Homeschooling Families Protest New Changes From Public Education Department

in #homeschool6 years ago (edited)

I can remember my years in the classroom and how much weight rode on pupil attendance. That's so sad.

Out of curiosity, are parents allowed to write the $10K allowance off on taxes for homeschooling?

Best regards.

Peace.

No, parents don't get any kind of tax credit or allowance for homeschooling. The school wouldn't share either, if I did enroll my kids. Seems like some kind of kickback would be appropriate, or at least better than nothing.

It's not like they'd need to hire anyone just for my kids, or expend any additional funds. Wouldn't have done it anyway, but I was curious LOL.

Thanks for the feedback @valued-customer. After giving it some thought, I realize that homeschooling is a business, technically speaking; even if the students/customers are your children.

That said, I do believe a parent could teach using a DBA for bank/accounting purposes. Anyone, this includes parents, who homeschool for a living should consult with a business attorney to see how to set things up as such.

Best regards.

Peace.
