Homeschool Book Report: My Side Of The Mountain by Jean Craighead George

Hello, my name is Joshua. I am The Homeschool kid.

Today I am going to give you a Homeschool Book Report of My Side Of The Mountain by Jean Craighead George.

In this story, a boy named Sam lives in New York City. He was tired of living in the city and wanted to go live on his own. Then he heard of his great grandfather's land in the Catskill Mountains. He decided to run away and live off the land.

However, he found that it was not as easy as he thought. He tried to make shelter for himself, but he was not fast enough. Before he knew it, it was dark. Later in the book Sam finds a large tree and makes it hollow to live in it. He gets small food from a peregrine falcon that he trained himself.

This book taught me a lot of things. It taught me how to make a fish hook out of wood. It also taught me how harsh winter can be for wild animals that haven't prepared for it.

I like this book because Sam tries to live in the woods and in the winter. I also like this book because I like survival books.

I highly recommend that you read this book.
