Hi Everyone! Just Catching Up With You. So Much to Share!

in #homeschooling6 years ago

Well, I started strong some months ago on Steemit. I was thinking about it often, reading someone's blog or writing my own -- you know -- trying out this thing called "Steemit". And then, just like that, I stopped using it! But I'm still here and I wanted to check in here and say, "Hello!" and then catch you up a bit on my life.

It's been a full Winter for me and my family. Lots of snow and homeschooling. I homeschool an "only child" and he is enjoying it and doing great. I admit that there have been days that I thought it would just be easier to take him to public school, but I would also be sad if I did that. It's work, it's time, but it's worth it. When parents and other teachers get burned out, maybe we simply need to take a step back and get some perspective, go on a field trip with our student(s), and then start fresh the next day. Homeschooling is fun, and when YOU think it's fun and express the love of learning to your children, they will love it too!

As for soap making, I've done more of that over the Fall and less over the Winter. I had Christmas sales, which was nice, and lately I've had sales and fan interest because a well-followed YouTuber put in a good word for me! That was cool! Then I did a giveaway, and 26 people participated to win the gift box with soap and other nice things in it. I don't sell internationally YET, but if you are in America, you can purchase here: http://lathersforlife.com/index.html

Those same YouTubers also put in a good word for one of my own YouTube channels. It was so fun watching the channel grow recently, and seeing people be blessed by my videos. It is a game changer when you really know that you have an audience.

And my last bit of news is that I started to follow "Trim Healthy Mama" at the beginning of the year and I lost about 15 or so pounds (which means that I'm halfway to goal weight)! I should have done this a long time ago because it is a WONDERFUL lifestyle to follow! I share more about that in my recent video:

Nice to see you have returned to the platform. Although my daughter is an adult now, we homeschooled from grade 3 until high school when she wanted the social aspect.

If you have not already heard of the @homesteaderscoop you may want to check them out as a venue to sell your soap.

Following with interest.

It is so very easy to "go all in" when we start something new and then falter slightly along the way, but life does sometimes take precedence. I've had some life things pop up lately that have also taken me away from the platform for a couple of weeks and I am trying to find my way again even though it was only a short time.

Glad you are still here!
