The Liberty Academy for Kids: Who was Bruce Lee?
Hi all,
As I recently re-launched The Liberty Academy, I am starting to reference some of its contents, more specifically lessons and courses I am adding.
Some of you may have children and I have a section Liberty Academy for Kids and Teens which is ideal for those who wish to access rich content for either homeschooling or enhancing the learning of their children.
This particular lesson Who Was Bruce Lee is actually suitable for older kids (12 yrs+), tween, teens, and even adults!
In fact, I think a lot of adults right here on Hive (or elsewhere) would learn a heck of a lot from this lesson.
Although Bruce Lee was primarily known as a Movie Star and Martial Artist (for Kung Fu), he was also an amazing philosopher with tons of wisdom to share.
His philosophies included many on life itself and how to live it to the fullest, how to handle difficult situations (with his famous "Be Like Water" mantra), and also on how to attain one's fullest potential through Self-Actualization.
This particular lesson is packed with goodies and organized into the following sections:
Biographical Information (which includes a superb short mini-bio)
Famous Quotes (example: "Emotion can be the enemy, if you give into your emotion, you lose yourself. You must be at one with emotions, because the body always follows the mind.")
The PHILOSOPHY of Bruce Lee
His Amazing Feats (here's one example of how he plays Ping Pong with numchucks, many other great videos are listed on the lesson page...)
Video Interviews including Bruce's screen test for his casting in the TV series The Green Hornet, among other fantastic interviews.
Key Resources on the Web including one of his books (Chinese Gung Fu : the philosophical art of self defense)
and much more...
The lesson also offers some amazing videos about this force of nature that is Bruce Lee, including the following one entitled The Wisdom Of Bruce Lee which is not only a very inspiring piece, but also serves as a source whereby students get to to deep dive into his gifted mind:
Overall, it is a packed lesson filled with exciting material and activities so that students of all ages can learn from this legend.
Hope you can share this wonderful lesson with a kid, teen, or young-at-heart adult in your circle.
God Bless,
Be water my friend...why "they" didn't teach me that in school ;)?
Enjoy your weekend, my friend!
Yes indeed. That is one of my favorite one's from him. I use this advice almost on a daily basis. Essentially, it means to adapt to any given situation, "go with the flow" if you will. I have much more serenity in my life just because of this. Best life advice you can get in this complex world.
