Bad seed,a decline in quality food supply ; the way out.

Generations of farmers have accumulated considerable skill in evaluating the quality of seed. By using their senses - looking,feeling,smelling,biting and even tasting.

They have developed an ability to discard seed lot of low quality. However, many deficiencies cannot be detected by using such simple methods, and consequently low quality seed may be used leading to low yields, poverty and starvation.

Seed, because of its very important role in setting the upper limit among all agricultural inputs e. g pesticide, fertilizer,etc. Seed quality is a multiple concept with several components which is the totality of many seed features that makes the seed suitable for planting purposes.
Bad seed play a significant role in the decline and shortage of supply of quality food produce,hereby the purpose of which the nutrients content are meant for is compromised. source -google
The solution necessary to be proferred to help solve the rate at which farmers patronize bad seed can be drastically reduced.
Agriculturists should be encouraged to verify the certification of a seed and purchase from reputable seed companies to help minimize the decline in quality food supply.
I can state without mincing words that majority of local farmers in the developing countries especially Africa are victims of this act
I shall discuss seed for a little period due to the fact that this is my first post as a steemian. As an agriculturist,seed is the sole proprietor of farming, hence usage of quality seeds cannot be negotiated.
