This winter we have been so busy with projects and work that @mericanhomestead and I have not been able to keep up with chopping wood. The days are getting warmer but there are still some cold days ahead of us before spring is here.

I heard that the boys next door are trying to earn money to buy a truck so I hired them to cut and stack firewood.

By the time they were done, they had cut and stacked 7 ricks (2 1/3 cords) of wood. It is so nice to have that chore done and the woodshed filled with enough firewood to last us into next winter.

Have a great day! Every comment is up-voted and thanks for your up-vote, Tim and Joann

The Hubs just worked in our firewood yesterday, bringing more in and changing out our wood boxes. When we lived in TN our Church Youth was always raising money for their Mission Trips and they would have weeks where you could hire them for chores. Chopping wood was always at the top of our list. Seems the boys who never had to chop wood always wanted to make sure they got picked. That was ok with us :)

That is the way it used to be all over but it seems kids do not want to work anymore as mom and dad just gives them what they want. Good thing for you and the boys.

Good idea hiring the boys next door to help out. It's a win-win. You get the job done and they get money towards a truck.

Helped those boys out and got a labor intensive job done....sounds like a win win!

I need those boys. A man down the road is saving a rick for me that I need to pick up this evening. Every year about this time, I get to the point that I don't even want to look at firewood anymore.

I know what you mean. Chopping firewood is some of the hardest work this old man does.

Love the look of stacked fire wood20180227_181313.jpg
