I feel compelled to just share my daily life with you guys. I know I don't travel much or have an amazing cooking blog but I work as a care nurse, I have chickens, I love to create all sorts of stuff, I love crypto, gold and silver and I enjoy a beer with the hubby...just a normal, boring life. What I truly love is being in nature. Getting out everyday and hanging with the trees and my dog. These are the great things we have to look forward to each day. The sun rises and sets and keeps giving us life.
The dog is no good at selfies!
Today, Jett and I set out for another forest adventure. This morning we startled a couple of gorgeous young whitetail deer. Too quick for my camera skills! They kept an eye on us for our entire walk. We started late today but if I go out early enough, I may stumble across the big great grey owl. Sometimes, it just sits on a broken tree and stares at me. It can be eerie but also fascinating.
I always wonder how many creatures are looking at me while I walk through their back yard.
I recently had a pileated woodpecker follow us around but instead of flying through the forest canopy, it would walk-fly and stay in view. It was almost as though it was joining us on our walk.
Very beautiful creature.
Another attempt at a selfie with Jett!
Our neighbor just spotted the big black bear heading up to hibernate about a half mile up our mountain. I hope he avoids my chickens, bird feeders and deep freeze this year. Lots of damage last spring! Little bugger. We are definitely living among the wilderness here and it is amazing how entertaining these animals are. I watch daily as the huge family of ravens circle the area looking for mischief to get into. They dive bomb the cats around here and they make the most incredible sounds. My favorite is the throaty call that the big female makes. Sounds like she is keeping the kids in line.
Well, I thought I would post a few pictures. I still can't believe where I live. I feel so spoiled. Speaking of spoiled...these little ladies have the best life!
It's gonna be a rough winter up here in the sticks but I am prepared for the challenge. Just got the new Jeep so I can get up the mountain... much better than the broken down ol' Chevy!
I hope you get a chance to go out and enjoy the beauty in the world. No matter where you are, there are amazing things to see.
Have a great day!
