The Challenge
Once again... I'm late posting the winner's announcement. I'm sorry for that.
If this was the first time you joined the 🌺 SteemIt Community Garden Journal Challenge, you should know that i never seem to be able to get the winner's post out one time. Life has its ways that cause me to be late all the time.
But here it is, at last!
8 people joined this 9th edition of the SteemIt Community Garden Journal Challenge, which was a little less than I had expected. I asume it was just a tiny bit too early or to late in the season for most gardeners.
You can find all entries in the comments section of the official contest post: 🌺 SteemIt Community Garden Journal Challenge 9 - January (Join Or Resteem And Win).
As always, I loved reading all those garden journals and seeing all those pictures. They made me long for spring once again. Fortunately, spring isn't that far away anymore.
🏆The Prizes🏆
All entry posts received a 100% upvote from my personal account.
Opposed to myself, the @steem-bounty service is always perfect on time, and every participant has received his share of the bounty. Now the price of Steem had gone up, the rewards were worth a bit more.
I promised to give out a reward of 3SBD to the two posts that appealed to me most.
2 randomly chosen resteemers will both receive an @incinboost share.
(I just read that @incinboost is closing the purchases of new shares. I hope I was still in time to register the shares. If not, I will be notified and I'll send the winners a @steembasicincome share instead.)
If you haven't heard of @incinboost yet, you can read this post.
Basically, you can compare the system with SteemBasicIncome. The big difference is that you get back more for what you put in. In short: it's more profitable and shares are processed faster.
The Contestants
Next to some veterans, I also had the pleasure to welcome a couple of new faces, and their gardens.
A big thanks to everyone who participated this time and showed us their January update.
@cloudblade, @porters, @london65, @alphaccino.art, @travoved, @phyowinkoko, @biffybirdcam and @sifondeseltz, thanks for entering. It is because of you that I can keep this contest alive.
I really enjoyed reading everyone’s posts. Again, the entries were of different varieties: we could see summer gardens, winter gardens, indoor gardens... I could simply feel the enthusiasm and the love for greenery. Once again, I fell in love with everyone’s story...
I'm sorry I failed to leave you all a decent comment, but life has been hectic. I assure you I did read every single post and enjoyed it to the fullest.
If you love your garden - no matter how big or how small it is - I probably won’t have to tell you that you are all winners.
If you’re a bit like me you know how easy instant happiness can be: a flower that blooms, a delicious, homegrown fruit to pick, finding a ladybug walking around... They don’t come any better than that, right?!
The Winners
Again, it was difficult to decide who I would reward with the SBD prizes. If I could have it my way, you would all win first prize, but if I start doing that every month, I'll be broke before I know it...
But here they are, the winners of the February-edition of the 🌺 SteemIt Community Garden Journal Challenge.
The winners are...
Source
@alphaccino.art's Community Garden Journal Challenge 10 (February).
@biffybirdcam's Winter Window Garden Update.
Congratulations to both. I've sent your prizes to your wallets.
Resteem rewards
I want to thank everyone who resteemed the contest post to help to get the word out about this challenge.
To pick 2 random winners, I entered all names into a random name picker.
The 2 people that will receive an @incinboost share are:
@london65
and
@alphaccino.art (Double luck this time for you)
The shares have been sponsored.
Please keep an eye out to make sure the shares are registered. Normally that isn't supposed to take a lot of time. In a few days, you can check the numbers of shares you have in the #share-lookup channel in the @incinboost Discord server
Keep Posting Garden Updates
This was the second edition of the #gardenjournal2019 challenge. Thanks to everyone who joined.
Since March has already started, the next edition of the contest will be here soon. Keep posting your updates, and keep an eye out for the next contest post!

@porters, I only just noticed I managed to forget to upvote your entry post. I went over to your blog, and you don't have any active posts at the moment. If you drop me a note when you publish a new post, I'll make it up to you by giving that one a 100% upvote.
Wow thanks! Kick ass!
Super excited for warming weather!

Congratulations. First entry, and already a winner;0)
I loved your pictures... they made me dream of warmer weather :0)
Wow, thank you so much @simplymike, when I entered I was aware of the steem-bounty and didn't think much more about the prize - thankfully, I do share your idea of instant happiness and I'm forever grateful that I'm able to appreciate the beauty of nature, like you said, in a newly blossomed flower or the many insects and bugs that come to visit... Thank you again for holding the challenge, you're doing a wonderful job and I don't mind if you run a little late, we all do sometimes lol
You're welcome, @cloudbade - and thanks to you too. Without people joining the challenge, there would be no need for it.
And during these last couple of winter months, those gardening posts were one of the few things that could make me smile :0)
Congratulations.
I really hope to see more great gardens for the upcoming season in the north.
I had miscalculated a bit. While for gardeners in the Southern hemisphere, fall and winter are getting pretty close. For me, here in Belgium, Match is the perfect time to start sowing. I forgot to take into consideration that it would still be mid winter in the most Northern countries.
I expect - hope - March will be a lot more busy.
It's definitely not winter in Korea anymore. In some of the southernmost areas planting without greenhouses is now possible.
I'm on the lookout for my next garden area and I imagine local people with some extra farmland are going to be renting out small plots for people to have gardens in the coming weeks. I tried to get a city-owned plot, but no luck again.
Two great winners
Congrats to you two
