This is a great way to plant the garden, it consumes much less water.
I started one this year that I have not finished yet.
I place big wooden knot in the bottom then smaller ones.
Then "compost" that will serve as fertilizer, a little soil and finally a natural straw mulch of the hemp kind to retain water.
My grandfather was doing his garden, that way too, and the vegetables were fabulous.
