Amazing stuff! I do find that with vines - gourds too. They can just look horrible and covered in mildew and like they're going to die...and then in the space of a few weeks, completely turn around.
That watermelon looks so amazing!

I have noticed that as well with vines. Both my melons looked horrible and they pulled through.
