Animals that eat chickens don't have a very long life expectancy here, Most Panamanians just poison bait them. I prefer my fence and dog. And might build a nice trap some day for local predators. A friend lost 3 chickens the other day to coyotes.

That's a shame. Yes - we have a humane trap we can use if we need to. Although what to do with the animal after we catch them will be a challenge. I won't want to kill an animal for simply doing what comes naturally...but you can't relocate them because then they become someone else's problem. Hopefully we'll never have to find out!

In a city near us, there is an animal shelter that is several hectares in size that takes good care of them. they are up for adoption but if not adopted live out there lives at that location.
