Those farmers

I have a brother who is 73 years old and sold his farm and now has a homestead. Well today he was putting a 3-point hitch on his tractor and hurt his back. Now he can barely walk.

The problem with farmers they never know when to slow down. I think they all think they can do what they did when they were 25 years old. The thing of it he has a son and a son-in-law who could of helped him if he waited til they got off work. But no he had to do it himself.

I guess you work everyday your entire working life it is hard to stop doing things you always have done. Last year he planted 20 apple trees on his 40 acre homestead. He keeps building up that homestead even though he's in his 70's. It must be what his heart wants him to do. Or could be he is building it up for someone in the future.

Glad your brother never gives up. Keeping active keeps him young. My daddy retired 3 times and he finally told me a man needs a job to go to every day.

Yes it is true. My Dad was a farmer and he retired and went to help out on my brothers farm.
