Perhaps you can convince your Dad to round up some additional padding or blankets to make your hanging out in the back more comfortable. A change of scenery once in a while would be a good thing. And better being out of that hot room, too!
My father is a kind of fixing things if it is not broken and it ends up with a function with no style to an eyesore. He had done it in a lot of things around the house and if it is not his he will disembowel it. So I am just afraid to buy appliances or even renovate this house.
