Wednesday I intended to get out in the garden early, but unfortunately I crashed at 6AM. One just never knows with Lyme disease. Thursday morning I did get out, even though my back went out at 5:30AM.
I got the whole Big garden completely weeded. Then I started to clear the first third to prep for planting.
I amended the dill circle and put the mulch I was moving on it. It still needs mulch tucked in around the plants, but my back wouldn’t stand for that.
The peas are all weeded and are doing well. The mulch really helped them through the very dry period.
Both areas of garlic are doing well. Their mulch helped them too. In this garden it was thick enough still to keep the weeds totally away.
By the gate to the Big garden the azalea is in full bloom from all the heat earlier this week.
The spirea is also in full bloom from the heat.
The rugosa rose has started blooming and I’ve been harvesting the petals to dehydrate for the layers. I’d already harvested the petals but had left buds and they opened for this photo.
I get a pretty good bowlful every other day.
Friday I will be out in the Big garden trying to get the first third prepped and laid out. I may even get something planted, if I have a better day.
