My intern’s dad, our chicken wizard at Freezer Camp, agreed to take my flock for the duration. He only had a small coop for his flock of 6 – 8 birds, so he would need to build something much larger. This is what he came up with.
The top is metal roofing with a ridge cap.
The sides are clearing roofing with hardware cloth on the lower section to the ground. He extended the hardware cloth out 18” to prevent digging, but hasn’t gotten it buried yet.
The ends are plywood and studs. The supports for the walls are PVC pipe. He hasn’t gotten the amenities inside finished yet.
It measures 12’ x 16’ and I think is 10’ high at the peak. So this is where the flock will be staying for the winter, unless I can get something done about our coop.
