On Sunday morning when I pulled up the shades I got a lovely surprise. I’ve had purple wandering jews for decades and they have never flowered. And this one has 3 sets of flowers!
They are quite delicate. I hope it has more.
The window next to the one the wandering jew is in is the roundtop. And there I found buds on one of the geraniums.
So now I was on a hunt to see what else had flowered while I was decorating the tree and house. The Christmas cactus had been flowering and had another flower open.
The peace lily had also been flowering for a while.
All the flowers were in the living room. None of the plants in the office are flowering right now.
The begonia I had dug up to take to my mom in September had continued to flower, but they weren’t the gorgeous bright red they had been.
Once the shades were up and the kitchen cleaned up, I spent another couple hours on the printer search. I think I’ve narrowed it down from 15 to 8 to 1:
Canon MegaTank G3270 All-in-One Wireless Inkjet Printer
It had the most features I wanted (along with several I didn’t), some of the best reviews, and had made 3 “Best of” lists. Of the 15 I checked out, many were Canon, a few were Hewlitt Packard, and a couple were Epsom.
Reading the *1 and *2 reviews, there were all too many problems across the board with software, poor customer service, and printer failures soon after purchase. I’m hoping the one I get will land in the *5 area…
Tom is reviewing what I found and I hope to purchase one today while they are still on sale.
I collected the laundry early as I plan to start stripping each load before washing it and it takes a long time to do that. So I got the first load going.
Next I decided to try to finish the decorating. These are the cards my sister has made over the years. I scatter them around the house, but many end up on the posts by the wood stove.
Then I sat down and made the pomanders. One I hung over the kitchen sink.
The other hangs in the office. They give off a nice smell. So all that’s left is to get my #2 intern here on Monday morning to straighten the tree, put the tree skirt on, straighten the top of the tree, and put the star on. Then I will be done, except for playing tetris and trying to get all the boxes back in the store room.
It was going to be a very cold night so I got the stoves going at 4PM and made sure they’d go all night. On Monday I continue the laundry and stripping, have exercise class and PT to do, my #2 intern coming before lunch, and just maybe I will resume work on bills/budget. We’ll see…
If you want to make the house and rooms look beautiful, then the only way is to bring flowers and plants to the house, it also improves our health and makes the house look beautiful.
The last flower by the window is looking very beautiful.
Also the printer looks so unique
I really like those flowers, expecially the first one with violet leaves!
I wish you a great fun while playing the Tetris game
You just really love it
You’ve had a long day but I’m sure the Tetris game will make it cool
The flowers look gorgeous, especially those of the Wandering Jew. You must've a very colorful living room. Though your Sunday wasn't all that eventful, it sure was fun. Thanks for the update and have a great day.
How is tetris game played? I learnt is some how difficult in playing.
The tetris I am referring to is trying to fit the various size boxes into the store room. It's very like the video game.
Wow, it flowered? That is so awesome you must be loving on her just right as I know they can be a difficult plant. So glad you found a good printer as I know the ones today are not made to last like those from the past.
It remains to be seen, on the printer...
It will work out fine. Would you believe I let my son use my wireless mouse while here, since he left his in Panama. I gave it to him to take with him to NYC because he will be staying there for a week.
Lol, the wireless plugin was also the same for my keyboard. Sigh! I had to order a keyboard and a new mouse this morning for my Windows computer. Thank goodness I also have this Mac to use. Duh! you would think one would remember things like that.
