On Friday morning I didn’t get up until 5AM. There was no greeting at the bedroom door as usual. I wandered around doing early morning stuff, and Larry just stayed on the couch by the masonry heater. It was hard to tell if he was hot or not because of the proximity of the heater.
I went and worked on photos for the post and at 6AM I went to feed him. He did show some interest in breakfast and actually ate all of it. But he was rather lethargic all morning.
I got the kitchen cleaned up and hauled out the present wrapping paraphernalia. Once the milk order was done, I started wrapping presents. My helper had arrived at 8AM and I sent him on an errand.
It was a very gloomy day and I had turned on the lights for the Christmas tree. Once he was back we set about making @sunscape’s Roasted Corn Chowder. I completely forgot to get any photos.
Once it was nearly finished (we left out the cream, cooked batata, and scallops to be added later) I finished wrapping solstice and Christmas gifts for Tom’s family, and my helper took it all to Tom’s house to drop off.
Once my helper went to his next person, I was still in my pajamas, having never gotten dressed. I went up and got the mail and it was just starting to snow. I got back, had the Christmas music going, the wood stove going, ate lunch, and decided to sit down to watch a movie while it snowed. Later I would wrap more presents.
And the phone rings… It was the Senior van driver to take me to PT! Oh, geez, I’d completely forgotten!
I zoomed around and got dressed and out the door. For the first time, the PT therapist really made me work, as I was not a hurting unit for a change. She sent me home with increased work on the original exercises to do for the next 10 days until I return again.
I was too tired to wrap presents, so I sat and finished my movie. The snow had stopped; we only got 1½”, just so it’s almost white. It’s to be colder again, so it might last until Christmas.
On Saturday I can either wrap presents or do more work on the estate stuff. It’s to be cloudy and cold, so I will have the tree lit again, music on, and the stoves going.
You’re doing a good job
Always take time to rest too

My cats too with all that cold are like Larry! Not much active, sleeping
He's much better today, I think he just wasn't feeling so good yesterday.
Larry is your kitty, right? I hope they feel better. 💜
Great work getting so much done, I know PT can be hard!

Your plan for Saturday sounds perfect. Wrapping gifts, estate work, warm stoves, and Christmas music—it’s all so wonderfully festive.
I admire how you balance productivity with moments of rest and relaxation. It’s a lovely rhythm for the season.
You took it easy for a day as the body needed to slow down. Sometimes my brain just went on strike and decided to do nothing the whole day. Some days it became very fast and worked nonstop! Strange energy flows surrounding me these days.
