On Friday morning I was up at 5AM and started on all the above stuff to do left over from Thursday. I had to get it all done so I’d have some place to put the things coming in from the living room for cleaning.
My helper friend arrived at 8AM and I had just finished the bathroom. But I hadn’t cleaned the things from the woodbox nor moved things back into the corner as planned.
So there wasn’t a lot he could do until I got things done. He vacuumed a little as I moved things, the walls and ceilings. He dusted and polished a few of the things I moved.
Then he washed up some of the things on the counter. I realized that we’d never washed the stones in the humidity trays for the ferns and they were decidedly looking like mini swamps. So I got him a colander and a stainless steel bowl and he proceeded to wash the stones. They look so much better!
I had finally caught up and he dusted and polished the book shelf on the left while I washed the roundtop window. He then vacuumed all around it and the ceiling and we put it back together again.
He sat at the dining room table cleaning dead stuff off the plants there, and I washed up their cache pots as he finished each one and put them back in their windows.
Next he started on the small bookcase with DVDs in it while I rested on the couch. As he sat there, he glanced out the roundtop window.
He saw a whole flock of redwinged blackbirds in the magnolia! I didn’t want to get up for the camera but they were still there after a while. So I got the camera and took these through the window. The sun was shining right on me and I couldn’t see to focus. But there were at least 6 birds in the tree by the time I got there. I only got 2 or 3 of them in the frame.
When he finished the bookcase he vacuumed the small couch and we set the room to rights, more or less.
It was at that time the inspector showed up and did his thing.
The living room is half done. We’ve got the west wall to do and the center of the room with the big couch, etc.
It was pretty warm in the living room as my son had gotten to masonry heater too hot. So I had the porch door open and a window open on the porch.
He left at noon and I sat down to eat lunch and rest for an hour. Then I got up and finally got my post written, got a shower, and went to PT. On the way back I stopped for the mail and I had gotten the rest of my seeds. There are still a few on backorder. But I think I have everything I need to start the first ones on Saturday morning.
Even with the snow, one of the snowdrops has a bud in the alcove of the New West garden by the front porch.
I was far too tired to finish cleaning the things for the living room so I will have to do it first thing on Saturday morning. Then I have to set up for the first seed starting, 7 trays. My #2 intern will be here late morning to help me with that.
I have nothing planned for Sunday though I ought to be paying bills/doing the budget. We’ll see…
You are really doing a very great job daily. Thank you

Good to see your legs ache less.
Wow, your living room is looking clean also, by opening the porch window and door, you will be feeling enough airiness in the living room.
