On Wednesday morning I was up at 4:30AM and got the post up. Then I cleaned up the kitchen and worked on the budget/bills/checkbook. I made a cup of tea and sat down for a while.
Now that the Big garden is put to bed for the winter, I was trying to decide what project to tackle on Wednesday. Then it occurred to me. I had been thinking about the Christmas lights and putting the candles in the windows. But I couldn’t do that on the 2nd floor because I’d never finished the windows up there. There were 7 to do before I could put candles in them. So I decided to try to tackle them.
But before I started that, I’d been wanting some butter beans. I went to go to the co-op for ham and realized my car was in the shop. So I made them without it.
I decided to do the 2 medium sized windows in the old laundry and hallway first. In the process of doing that I noticed this:
You see the white splotches on either side of the top sash? The window guy had obviously forgotten to keep his hands off the glass. I had 2 complete handprints.
This is one of the biggest windows and I’d have to take it out by myself to get those off. I normally look out this window just as the sun comes up and just after it’s gone down. Obviously I never had during the day when the sun shines in. So it would have to be re-done.
So I finished the 2 medium ones, and moved into the bathroom to do the 2 smallest ones. Then my son was around so I had him help me with the awning window in the spare bedroom. Then I did the 2 small windows in there by myself.
Two days ago I came up to pull the shades and found the plant in the basket lying on the floor. My helper and I had just watered it on Tuesday. The water had soaked into the wood floor and it was a mess to clean up. I knew how it got on the floor and I found the culprit…
He’d had little interest in the window washing this time around. And wasn’t impressed when I moved all the plants and lowered the shelf…
I finished the windows around 2PM and was pretty tired. I sat until 3:30PM and then got a shower. The phone proceeded to ring off the hook. The mechanic called to say the car was ready. So I tried to find someone to take me to get it, but no one was answering phones. Maybe on Thursday…
Moonrise
I got a call from Chloe at Sunrun and was able to confirm that there would be no charge for the visit to stop the beeping. She also said the system is producing 150 – 175% of the contract amount this week. But had no idea why it was so low last week, at only 75%. It’s been sunny or mostly sunny both weeks.
On Thursday I am going to try to get the car. I need to try to run an errand if I can. My helper friend will be here at noon and I plan to make a lot of zucchini ravioli all afternoon. It’s to be cold and windy so I’ll stay inside.

You remind me that Christmas is just a few days away 😁
Ready for the winter.
I'm glad you are set for the winter. I hope you have sorted out the beeping?
Yes, that was sorted on Monday.
Cleaning of windows in the house is quite tiring but is good you are getting them done.
Oh no, don't put hand prints on the windows, geez That is a no-brainer. I hope that is the only one that needs re-doing. Stay warm this week.
So far...
I like to have a cup of tea aswell early morning... Feels good
I hope you've gotten the car, so your mobility won't be hampered. You had a productive day, doing garden and house chores. The plant in the vase looks luscious and alive I wonder what plant it is. Thanks for updating about your activities yesterday. Have great day.
The plant in the basket is a amaryllis.
You're had done a lot today, hope the handprints didn't affect other windows?
Not found any that big so far...
You actually have a very great day actually I must confess
