The Physiology house is the first one off reception and the first one in the Bulb Show. But there was no evidence of a Bulb Show yet. What greeted us, besides the lovely smell, were all kinds of citrus and orchids.

Behind Physiology is the Cold Storage House and that’s usually the second section of the Bulb Show. But now it was full of more orchids and camellias. From there we went down the Camellia Corridor. It’s always disappointing to see these stunning camellias and know they have no scent.

There were lots of camellias and some citrus and the unlabeled mauve and white plant above. Lots of the plants are unlabeled or I don’t recognize the names.

We back tracked the Camellia Corridor and went into the Cool Temperate House. After all the standing I’d been doing all day, I was glad to sit on the nice bench and listen to the water feature for a while.

On our way out of the Cool Temperate House we saw these 2 beautiful flowering jade plants.

From there we went into the lovely humid and warm Palm House. This heavenly scent greeted us at the door. It was the flowers of the tree, above. It was unlabeled.

I think the Palm House might be my favorite one. The cacao tree that grows there was plastered with pods. And there are lots of fascinating plants, leaves, and flowers. There was a large bunch of unripe bananas on the banana tree.

Next was the Stove house where we found the tri-color orchid and pitcher plants.

Beyond that is the Warm Temperate House and that had the toothed flower and the sensitive plant.

We backtracked again into the Palm House and went through to the Fern House. I think the Fern House is the tiniest one. But every time I am drawn to the uniqueness of all the different types of ferns, and particularly to ones with lots of spores on the undersides of leaves.

Between the Succulent House and the Fern House is the Show House and the top 2 photos are from there.

These 2 in the Succulent House caught my eye. After this house we slowly made our way back to reception and decided to view the exhibition in the Church Gallery.

I’d love to have a greenhouse like the Cool Temperate House some day. If my sister ever hits the lottery…

After that we headed back up the hill and on the way back to my house tiny snowflakes started hitting the windshield and melting. I was home by 2:30PM and too tired to continue on the tree. I had way too many photos to edit so I got started on those.

Going to these wonderful greenhouses in winter really buoys our spirits, especially as we are heading into the very cold, dark cabin fever days.

Seems like they really have beautiful flowers of different colours in this garden I must confess and this is really looking beautiful

The flowers are so beautiful
Is there anything meaningful about having a greenhouse?
I want to know the benefit

These greenhouses are part of the educational program at Smith College. Having a greenhouse in New England extends the season for growing a lot.

You must be feeling very relaxed while listening to the water feature

Big greenhouse with lot of flowers!

I like succulent plants

Many types of flowers, my heart melts just looking at them. Amazing photography

"The colorful beauty of flowers is an indescribable gift of nature that fills the heart with peace and joy. Each color symbolizes a new chapter of life. May your family and loved ones' lives be as vibrant, joyful, and full of love as these flowers—this is my heartfelt wish for you.
