I was up around 5:30AM on Sunday and got my post up. When I pulled the shades up at 7:20AM, this is what I saw. It had been snowing most of the night.

It kept snowing until around 9AM. I got the kitchen cleaned up and decided the project of the day was cleaning the inside of the little convection oven. It gets used a lot and things seldom get covered when put in to heat up or cook, so it was a terrible mess.
Once the sink was cleaned out, I set the racks to soak all day in washing soda. The tray was aluminum and couldn’t go in washing soda. So I put it in the clean room sink and covered it with a baking soda paste. Off and on all day I would spray it with a vinegar solution.
I told my brother and son they were responsible for cleaning the oven. I had done the door and outside when we did the counter top. So my brother got a paste of baking soda on the aluminum back and I sprayed that off and on all day.
The racks came nice and clean, the back was much better. My brother scrubbed the sides some, but the top went untouched. Sigh… My son scrubbed on the tray a bit, but didn’t really get it clean.
I expect I will have to finish it.
On Saturday night I started thawing out the very last of our whole birds. We had double vacuum sealed them when they were processed. The outside bag had lost its vacuum but the inside one was good.
So I got the chicken in the crockpot Sunday morning for Sticky Chicken. My brother was going to make a squash side dish to go with it.
Then he went out to plow and I went out to sweep the walkways and steps. The snow had a crust on it and was sort of heavy, so it wasn’t easy. Plus the snow is getting high enough that if we get more snow, I might have to leave them to be shoveled.
Once all that was taken care of, I sat down and started transcribing.
I finished around 2PM, all the seed starting notes were updated. I still had the notes for the various gardens to do, but they didn’t have a deadline.
In the evening as my brother and I were waiting for supper to be ready, the sun struck the snow still on the trees and it was pretty.
So I went out to get a photo and noticed the moon was rising right above the trees.
The supper of Sticky Chicken and the squash and onion mix was delicious.
This drought notice came through my feed but I noticed as I posted it that it was dated January 1. We’ve had a lot of snow since then, but they say it stays in effect until changed. I’m hoping we get enough snow to change the status by spring.
On Monday I have the kitchen to clean up, the convection oven to finish, laundry to do, and exercise class. It’s to be a sunny day so I won’t have to feed the stove as much.
You did a lot of work today, please always make out time to rest.
So, the snow is quite useful as it will provide more water later on.
The whole garden looks very different and beautiful in its own mood. You had quite a busy day with very eager supervisor!

You got the same snow front that we just had and I believe we have more coming. It is greatly needed for sure and I hope that the drought map changes for you.
