The beginning of our story which began in 2013...
We are a husband and wife team who decided to quit the rat race and leave surbiton to live a semi self sufficient life in Bulgaria, So with that in mind we made a start on changing our life by researching which countries we could possibly start our new life in and decided on Bulgaria. Our next step was finding a home so, crazy as it sounds, we decided to buy one off eBay !
We purchased our house from a company that regularly listed houses on Ebay. Most people might think we are mad but after a lot of research we decided to take the plunge and found a house that we liked the look of on a no reserve auction. Ok it does need renovating but as we only got it for £2050 we really didn't have much to loose . We put our faith in our research and the photo’s shown on the listing. We have never visited Bulgaria (possibly mad I know), nor have we seen our house in real life yet (possibly even more mad) but from our gut instinct we put our bids in and nervously waited for the auction to finish.
We finally won the auction after much anticipation and excitement and against all odds we were home owners in the beautiful country of Bulgaria. We are leaving the rat race and the drudgery of the UK at the end of April and we can’t wait to begin our self sufficient lifestyle.
Throughout the whole buying process so far we can not fault the help and efforts of the staff of the company we bought from, they have gone above and beyond so far and we have no reason to think that this won’t change. We have so many ideas and aspirations for what we want to do with our new home, barns and gardens, and can’t wait to see what we can do once we see everything in the flesh. We will continue to update everyone of our progress, good or bad.
